I've got to edit the most recent Lawcast. If anyone wants to help out +Free Culture Media and make us a new logo, that would be fantastic.

I wrote this to a facebook group and got pretty decent response. It's pretty obvious for a lot of reasons what site I am talking about, but I guess as long as I'm in recruitment mode, I might as well post this here.

Aside from the fact that people ask about getting into journalism occasionally on the show, this isn't really a Phone-In post...it is about world (and British) football though.
I have operated a small* sports media outlet for 5.5 years (don't worry, there's no link coming, this isn't spam). We are in the middle of transitioning to be a football-only outlet (this is a slight exaggeration, as one of our weekly shows will still be a grab-bag, but already largely focuses on football).
I'm curious if anyone would be interested in covering their team/league/country for us. It's unpaid**, but we will work with leagues to try to get you a press pass (this will likely be impossible for big leagues...we've had success with [new] ABA and ConIFA in the past). Also, we encourage donations and can help with crowdfunding and such if you are serious.
There are also no rules or deadlines other than:
1) everything we do is released under a free culture license (I'm happy to explain what that means in comments if people are curious), and
2) any sort of breaking the law or promotion of such will get you booted.
For now we probably want to keep everything in English, though if I find someone I trust to write in other languages, that would certainly work too.
* We've been bigger in the past, but right now we are basically three people with two more that write very occasionally (actually, those two write about basketball and baseball respectively and we won't be cutting ties with them...it's complicated).
** It's unpaid because there is no money currently. The only thing financially I've gotten out of these 5.5 years is three DC United tickets. We do run site ads, but those just cover hosting and very occasionally go to advertise the site and articles.

well, the pitches would be faster, so I'm not sure the robots would always hit homeruns. They still need to do the calculation and swing. It only has three strikes, so it would need to swing at non-homerun balls sometimes.

+Snd Chaser sorry for all the messages, but want to make sure you know I can't record until 7PM ET at the earliest. We can find another day if you prefer. I recorded a show yesterday, which is enough for me to feel comfortable trying to schedule JoCo.

Yeah, being able to access this remotely is not so great...

Unbelievable. #infosec folks have been warning against this for YEARS. They said: separate infotainment from steering/breaks etc. Do not implement wireless control over this. Have good security measures. This can kill people. It can turn cars into weapons.

And here is a car you can control over the internet - COMPLETELY. From CD player to brakes - thousands of Jeeps can be turned into remote murder weapons, for both the people in them and those around them.

EVERY Jeep Cherokee should be immediately grounded. And let them pay a 500 million fine - just to ensure no car maker tries to save 5 bucks on a 50K car by not separating driving from the fscking entertainment system!!!

Or are we going to wait until a few people are killed? Or for a cyber war where cars are used to take down bridges by driving into them?

Well, the robots wouldn't know what the other robots would be doing, so I don't think it would necessarily know it couldn't get the steal.

I mean, I always share them again, which I think counts as a +.

Just noticed this had zero pluses. That's a sign it never got shared. Oops!

On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog. Unless your owner rats you out.

Not the first time we've had a penguin on, but the first time we've had a dog...we think.
