tap tap Hey, is this thing still on?
I'm doing reviews again! I was too lazy to do build a new blog site, so instead, I'm opting for the simpler approach, and doing a Tumblr. That's what the cool kids are doing these days, right?
Well, I did a review of #Elysium , so you can check that out, maybe follow me while your at it or whatever it is you do on Tumblr?

I don't get it. I played Skyrim. I did all the quests worth mentioning. I'm done. I can't really play any more. I picked up Dawnguard for $20 on the promise of over 20 hours of new gameplay ($1/hour's pretty damn good for a DLC these days), and somehow, it's grabbed me again. I don't know HOW, but adding a crossbow for my archer to use ALONE has me pumped and excited again. Well played, +Bethesda Softworks. Well played...

Just watched "Rubber" on +Netflix Streaming. I believe one of the top reviews on the page summed up my feelings exactly on it better than I care to reword at 1 in the morning.

The thesis of the film is that things in movies happen for no reason. Like, literally, a guy in an eyepatch comes up out of a car trunk and explains this to you and tells you this is a celebration of that idea. And thats fine and dandy. I was with him until words started coming out of his mouth. The problem comes when you spend the vast majority of the movie reinforcing this point with a bunch of really terrible actors, using bland, unfunny exposition and trying to coyly break the 4th wall. The parts with the tire blowing things up? Fantastic. Utterly great. But if this movie was really a celebration of no reason like it said it was, it wouldnt need 45 minutes of awful meta narrative to do it: It would just let the tire do its thing, and trust the audience to follow it to its conclusion.I came into this movie wanting something like Rikki-O, Tetsuo the Iron Man, Wild Zero or Scanners. I got something like Waking Life. Its not a feature film: its someones awful thesis paper duck taped to a great short film about a tire that kills stuff.

Stocking magazines, just caught the cover of the latest Newsweek. Picture of Obama with a rainbow halo saying "The First Gay President." Really, +Newsweek and The Daily Beast? Really? I'm not sure a worse faux-pas could have been made on this subject. Just because you support gay people doesn't mean that you're gay. I'm for marriage equality, and I'm not gay, just like I'm against slavery, but I'm not black.
Maybe it's just worse for me because I recognize bad journalism after working in the field.
Learn what real journalism is. Twisting headlines to catch eyes? Not it. Take a cue from +BBC News or +NPR.

I was really disappointed with newsweek too when I read that.

Some wicked cool photography of ink dropped in water. Fascinating pictures, and every one completely unique.

Why did you overhaul a beautiful app into a mediocre app? Silly Google and your iPhone app... I bet it still looks beautiful on your Android phones...

Why does my spam folder seem dead set that I really want to have sex with endless amounts of married women? I'm sorry, but single ladies, your fallback for the past endless amount of years, are more appealing than married ones. Spam is getting weird...

Spam is GETTING weird? According to my spam, not only do I require female enhancement (Clearly, I don't have large enough boobs.) BUT I also need Viagra immediately. Not sure if it's telling me I lack testosterone, or should have more estrogen.....

World of Warcraft Talk Alert
Blizzard is making all new Mists of Pandaria tabards no longer give experience from dungeons. Thank. God. Wrath/Cata's tabards really cheapened my WoW experience. I live for rep grinds. I do daily quests. I love the feeling of finally getting exalted with a faction I've been grinding for months (Skyguard, Ogri'la, Sporeggar, Kurenai, etc. [note how all of these are Burning Crusade factions...]). They really did it right in BC, having dailies to make the rep grind reasonable and fun, but leaving a challenge and time requirement. Blizzard is making my playstyle valuable again, and for this, I thank them.

One of the best parts of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, the Pet Battles, now have music to accompany them. It is absolutely amazing. No, seriously. I am in love with it. Well done, Blizz.
