Any time you get development and pie at once is happy.

So why did Google release a game about pie throwing to the play store? In the latest episode of Game On! hear +Todd Kerpelman tell the epic history of Pie Noon -- it's a tale that involves oven mitts, tiny image file sizes (using WebP), complicated math (using MathFu), and efficient data storage (using FlatBuffers).

Also, you're going to want to watch this one to the end. Trust us.

So what technical differences are there in Android Studio that would make it worth my time to switch to from Eclipse with the ADT plug-in? I've seen screenshots but I'm not sure of what the technical differences are. It seems to me that it's mostly visual distinctions.

Oh good, I've been looking for a function to tell me if a user would make a good sacrifice to the Dark Old Ones.

Studying for databases and HCI classes... Oh, the brutality. Too different in context, it is stretching me quite a bit to look at pure backend concrete development and something less rooted in technology and more rooted in statistical models and heuristics and such.

Very stark contrast working on iOS and Android applications during the last year to studying numeric representation on a binary level... The low-level of computer science courses definitely jolts me a bit compared to the relative safety to high-level abstraction... Well, back to studying.

Thank you! I actually did. Even though at the time it seemed hard, my professor did break things down to where data representation and such was fun.

Will we be able to get tickets this year? That is the real question.

Save the date for Google I/O 2013

It might only be December, but Google I/O 2013 is set and is just 162 days away! We’ll be returning to Moscone Center West in San Francisco on May 15-17, 2013, and sharing the experience beyond via Google Developers Live and I/O Extended viewing parties. We’ll announce registration details in February 2013.

If you have not yet experienced Google I/O, our annual developer event, visit the 2012 site at https://developers.google.com/events/io/ for highlights, including the spellbinding Google Glass demo (http://youtu.be/D7TB8b2t3QE).

To stay up to date on Google I/O announcements, as well as other developer news, follow us here on Google+ and join the conversation with #io13  .
