The Manaiakalani Innovation team is seeking an experienced teacher to join our team as a PLD Facilitator for the 2019 school year. This is a new role and will focus on supporting teachers and schools in the Manaiakalani Kahui Ako.

We require an experienced and credible educator with a sound understanding of effective teaching and learning practice and enabling digital technologies. The successful applicant will work as part of a highly collaborative innovation team building teacher skills and knowledge. Facilitation will be in the context of the New Zealand curriculum and include the implementation of the Manaiakalani Programme including the Learn Create Share pedagogy, visible teaching and learning, and the Manaiakalani CyberSmart curriculum. Manaiakalani’s coherent PLD programme, backed by research and development, will provide a positive and supportive environment. The successful applicant will be an expert teaching practitioner with a good working knowledge of raising achievement by linking evidence to practice. They will be supported to develop good working relationships with education researchers, ed-tech providers, principals and staff and will be supported to become Ministry-accredited as a PLD facilitator.

The Manaiakalani Education Trust offers an employment package in keeping with equivalent PLD facilitation and school leadership roles. Remuneration will take into account skills and experience. Appointment will be for a fixed term for the 2019 school year with potential for extension. Start date for the role is January 21 2019.

It is our great pleasure to confirm Dr Cynthia Greenleaf will be running a professional development session for any interested Manaiakalani teachers and leaders at Pt England School, on Thursday 13 September at 3.30-4.45.

Attached is a flyer that we invite you to distribute to teachers/teams. Can we also ask if you can display the flyer in your staff rooms as a reminder to teachers to come along and to announce in staff briefings now and nearer the date. We are looking forward to the privilege of engaging directly with Cynthia at this session which we are confident will have powerful practical implications for those attending.

This is also a catered event so we do ask that if you or your teachers are coming to please register at the link provided, and no later than 9am, Wednesday 12 September.

The Manaiakalani 7th annual Hui is being held on Friday August 24th.
We realise that some of our schools will be having a ToD to enable you all to attend for the full programme. Others will be running a full school day and only some will be released to attend.
All Manaiakalani schools are welcome to join us after school for a social hour if you are teaching during the day.
