My father, Rocky Aoki, defined Japanese Cuisine in the
United States when he founded the best-known Japanese
restaurant in the world- Benihana. I literally grew up
in the restaurant industry and quickly began to appreciate
the importance of hospitality, fresh ingredients and
attention to detail. From my earliest memories, I began
to imagine how I could build on the tradition of my father
in a way that is equally exciting.
I opened our first Doraku restaurant in South Beach, Florida,
to capture the flavors of Latin Cuisine with the sushi
tradition of my native Japan; one that combines traditional
Japanese cooking with innovative South American and
Pan Asian flavors. We encourage the Japanese culture of
sharing - our dishes are served to you "family style." By
doing this you will have the opportunity to experience all
the unique flavors we offer.
At Doraku we hand select the freshest fish from both local
and global markets. The fish is then packed on ice
and flown in daily to our restaurants. Our master chefs
then use imaginative techniques to draw out the distinct
flavors of the fish through sauces that have been passed
down through generations.
Since no meal would be complete without sake, Doraku
has one of the most extensive sake menus in the United
States. Each year we travel to Japan to hand-select new
varieties of artisanal sake (known in Japanese as Jizake)
from local microbreweries to fill Doraku's world famous
It is this commitment to quality and attention to detail
that make the Doraku experience live up to its name: "the
road to happiness."
We hope you will find your happiness here as well.

We tried all of the house seasoned sushi - loved all of them. Sashimi was good too. Fish is fresh; selection is decent. Would come back.

Up until about a month ago it would've gotten 5 stars. Since then, they changed the entire menu and eliminated duck entirely from the menu. I literally used to go here about 3 times/week for a year and a half, and every single time I went, I'd order the duck fried rice. Best dish ever! I even forced some of my friends who hate fried rice to have it, and they got hooked on it too. Now that they no longer carry this or any other duck item, there's significantly less of a reason to go there. Other than the horrible menu revision, it's a great environment, reasonable prices, good sake selection, and good location, but they definitely lost some of their signature dishes.

First off, I've always been a big fan of Doraku, since their first location opened up in SoBe. The newer Brickell location brings all the same greatness in a more local setting. The Happy Hour is always a must, but don't just limit yourself to this limited menu, because everything in the menu is amazing! As far as what to have, the Emperor Roll, Surf & Turf Roll, Chilean Seabass and Ahi Poke are my favorites, but again everything is really good and worth trying! The service is consistently impeccable and the management very friendly and hospitable, always making you feel at home and welcome, which is usually hard to find even at the fanciest restaurants. The decor and ambiance are also really nice and perfect for a date night or just a casual dinner with friends and family. To sum it all up, this place is A DEFINITE MUST! Check out their virtual tour and picture gallery to decide for yourself.

Sweet sweet sweet Happy Hour deal. Great sushi and cheap drinks is a great combination. So good that you need to get there early or you will have to wait for a table. Sake bombs are a must!

This is my FAVORITE sushi restaurant in all South Florida. They have the best best rolls ever. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't have a liquor license yet, so for dinner it is not the best. Their South Beach location, however, does have a liquor license and has the best drinks ever.
