There's an email that appears in my mailbox regularly with things I've posted here and there one year ago - Blast from the past. Well, this story came up and it made me laugh at some of my missteps from the past, especially since it's that same time of year now. Hope you enjoy.

Only our two free bottles. Jeffery buys the Landry wines at Rouses near our house. I did come home with jelly - peach musgadine wine jelly. You taste the peach fruit at first and then the wine. It is fabulous and can be ordered on line.

"My attempt at yoga was short lived because it had to be about the most boring form of exercise I had ever tried. When the yoga instructor said to be at peace with yourself, I had been thinking about work, food, or wine - all the things I would rather be doing, which was not exactly the most relaxing." - See more at:

"When Jessie returned and saw Raymond Bentley's face, she motioned him over to the couch as well. Why the hell couldn't they do their jobs without getting beat-up? her disgusted expression said. If she'd been there, she could have put Nasty down for good and not even broken a sweat. Bently shuffled over and sat down beside Santos. The agent's ginger hair was spiked with dirt, and since he'd started the brawl tonight, his face was almost as bloody as Santos's." - See more at:

"We should ask why, when lost in the forest, we wouldn't follow a compass if we have one. We don't consciously decide to forsake God. Instead, it's a slow, subtle slipping away as we focus on our own desires and selfishly strive to meet our needs on our own. This causes a domino effect that takes us farther and farther away from peace and harmony. We deny ourselves the best, which can only come with a right relationship with God. 'Avoid anything that puts your own desire above God.' - See more at:

All my life I have loved books; so it was a natural progression for me to merge that love of books with book reviewing. I also love to write, and dispersed between the many book reviews you will find on my blog, are my stories, my memories, my memoir. I invite you along for the journey, through laughter and tears, and the ups and downs that make up my life.
