Introduction
I'm exploring my new life, doing things I've never done, and reinventing who I am. Kinda fun. :)
I am delving back into nursing. I currently work for an agency in Arlington that supplies private duty nurses to children (and the occasional adult) with disabilities and/or medical problems. I have one patient that I care for all the time. She is now 18 months old and so adorable that I can barely stand it. Due to some issues within her FOO she now lives with me temporarily with the blessing of her parents.
I am more than who my job implies I am, more than just the mother of my children, more than just the grandmother of my grandchildren and more than the sweetest girlfriend ever for the wonderful man I am dating. I'm on the road to finding who I am and I'm not afraid of taking side roads and having new adventures.

Oh...one more thing...I shoot Canon and Samsung mirrorless.
Bragging rights
I married way too young, raised two bright and beautiful daughters, became a nurse when I was 23, lost both parents when I was 24, explored the world of nursing in many different areas, discovered that I have a love of photography and all things artistic, dissolved a 25 year marriage in 2011, and am now learning to be the single person I never had the chance to be. Living my life one day at a time and learning something from each and every day.

Latest ramblings and another pic.
As my previous post mentions, I found gold recently in a flooded pasture. Not literally, but photographically. What looks particularly boggy, soggy and ugly in the broad daylight surely can take on magical attributes in the e...

Another column from the early 90's about worries and stress relief basically and a big pity party from me. And a picture, just because it's a picture blog primarily.
I hope you all have a good day.

Just a little story about a deer and a Camaro.
As you will all see soon enough (my faithful 4 followers...lol) I am about to branch this blog out into not JUST photography, but a few other things as well. I have a project in "time travel" that I'm working on which I think...

Just another blog post about photography....
At this time of year, when the colors finish changing and all the leaves fall to the ground and turn that dismal brown that hurts the eyes and wounds the heart, it gets particularly hard for me to find inspiration. I have a g...

Four versions of the same shot with different lightroom settings. Which one do YOU like best?
Tonight we had to go to Azle to take Tinkerbell back to her Mom. I was grateful to not be having to go fight our way through the Ft. Worth traffic to their home, and it was nice driving down some twisty turny back roads that ...

This is a little something new I'll be doing periodically. You can read all about it and my reasoning behind it in the blog.
In short, a long long time ago a little elderly lady changed my life and I remember her fondly. She wrote a column and it is my hope to obtain every single column that she wrote and turn them into a book for MYSELF...just me...to pass down to my kids and grandkids because this woman had many gifts of teaching, of love, of friendship, of "the olden days" and I loved her outlook on this life more than anyone else I've ever known. I hope you enjoy.

Another drive by to the unattainable "El Castile"
There's a place here in North Texas that every explorer longs to visit. Well, actually there are two. One of them, while probably the greater of the two, is occasionally attainable. You just have to be there on the right day ...

Just a pic of my new car since I don't think I've posted one on here yet. Took her for a nice drive up to Turner Falls to see the changing leaves last weekend. It was warm enough to have the top down and quite a nice day all around.

Post Your Shots  -

I've been out shooting more than normal the last few months. I owe that to buying a new camera and feeling the urge to shoot everything in site.

In July, I finally made it over to an abandoned church in Jermyn, Tx. It's really quite beautiful in it's own broken way. Here is my favorite shot from that little excursion.

Comments welcome.
