Check it out here: https://caster.io/lessons/espresso-idling-resource-introduction/ #android #gde #techtalk

This week +Kaushik Gopal and I talk to +Jesse Wilson about OkHttp, okio, Retrofit and all kinds of interesting historical tidbits about these libraries and how they came to be. Don't miss this one, it was super fun to record and we can't wait for you to hear it. https://simplecast.com/s/2e201f87
Everyone loves Retrofit & okHttp. But how did they come about? Why ok? What was the need for such libraries? We went knocking on the doors of Square trying to find the answers to these question. We were lucky cause we found probably the nicest most brilliant Android/Java developer of our times - our good friend Jesse Wilson and without surprise, he crushes it! He gives us the scoop on the origin stories of these amazing libraries and also gives ...

Very cool episode! A lot of content and interesting information.

In the show notes, in the "Android’s HTTP Clients" section looks like there are supposed to be 3 links, but actually first two are linking the same URL. Is that a copy&paste error?

Thanks!

Here's the TLDR; - Stop waiting and go sign your kid up. You'll get amazing results. Stick the program (~20 minutes a day of work, every day of the year) and amazing things will happen to your child. Full review - Amazing results. I highly recommend it. We've been at Kumon for about 9 months with my 7 year old daughter. This last October, she was having a lot of difficulty with the math in her 2nd grade class. She felt like she "was dumb" and "not smart enough". We tried to help at home, but it wasn't working. We knew we had to do something about it so we came to Kumon to see what could be done. Within one month she was feeling positive about math. Within 2 months she was in the top 5 of her class. Within 3 months she was in the top 2. From month 4 on, she's taken over as the "super math student" in her class. She consistently scores 100% on her math and easily breezes through the work. By the time 2nd grade was over this year she was already 6 months advanced above entry level 3rd grade math. Since Kumon is a year round program she will probably be starting 3rd grade at a 4th grade math level. Here's the thing. I've always felt I was good at math. I'm an engineer and went to school for software and aerospace engineering. I vividly remember memorizing my single digit multiplication tables in the middle of 4th grade. My daughter had them almost fully memorized by the end of 2nd grade. 6 months prior she was dead last in her class for math. She's now the math super star. Why? Well, plain and simple - Kumon. Now, everything is not puppy dogs and ice cream. As like any kid, she doesn't want to do homework everyday and that can kind of be a grind (Kumon is EVERY SINGLE DAY work at home and two days in class). The nice thing is, its only ~20 minutes a day. That's the hardest part of this - getting her to do it. She's not a huge fan of doing the homework (she'd rather go swimming or play or something else), but she is a HUGE fan of the results. She loves knowing the maths like the back of her hand. She's even gone as far as to help the teacher out with some math stuff. She helps other students learn math. She encourages them and acts confidently when the topic of math comes up. The most important thing to note is that Kumon is not a quick hit solution. Its a long term investment. Do a little tiny bit of work every day and you'll be amazed at the outcome. Stick to it, and set a time for your kids to do their Kumon at home. Amazing things will happen at school, I've witnessed it. I hope this helps. We weren't sure if this was the right solution for our kids but its turned out to be great. We're starting our Kindergartener here in a couple months too!

I had another plumber fall through. Looked up Caballero and Sons online and decided to give them a try. Their office staff was very helpful and was even capable of getting a crew out many hours before my scheduled time. I'd definitely use them again.

Had a leak on the back patio. They came out and fixed it quickly and helped determine the root cause. Had such a great experience with them I invited them back to install our water softener.

Its Liquor Lyle's. Its a dive bar. The food is awesome, if you like bar food. Plain and simple, let me put it like this: if you don't like dive bars ... you probably wont like Lyle's. Its a love it or not place and well, I love this place. Too many good memories to ever forget.

Excellent place to send your child for karate lessons. Our daughter has become more responsive, respectful and confident since attending. The Sensei understands children and knows how to instill confidence and respect throughout every lesson. We tried gymnastics, dance/tap, swimming lessons for our daughter and she didn't really enjoy them. She begs us to go to Karate all the time. Going to Rising Sun Karate has been one of the best decisions we've ever made. If your looking for a place to have your child go learn karate and have positive traits instilled, look no further. Rising Sun Karate IS IT.
