This is what my mind is like at the moment. All smoky and fogged up. It makes for very inefficient days.

Oh my. The effects of climate change are not to be ignored! Now I understand why Uniqlo offers fleeces and toques in their stores at One Utama. Very prescient of them. +Taki Venizelos I hope you're well prepared for your travels through S. E. Asia.

sejuk is cold
sangat sejuk is very cold
memang sejuk - really cold isn't it?
terlalu sejuk - too cold

or if you ask, "sejuk tak", and you reply, "boleh tahan lah", that's saying it's bearable - so that's probably the closest you'd get to 'chilly'

faham tak?

Special for +Paul Johnson. I'm on the bus. Again. Anybody who request a stop before mine should be consigned to a lifetime of full Ng in application forms.

I thought you had a bike and some rather nifty British cycling gear (which wasn't required to exert it's supposed waterproofness today)? Leave those application forms behind on the bus!

Grumble. I can understand that it can time to sort and process items for delivery, so maybe the drivers might not actually get started in their route till noon.... But for the love of whoever or whatever you believe in, why can't I be the first stop... Just Once!!!

It is with regret that we must inform you that the rating for your application was not...

Nothing good ever comes at the end of this sentence. However, I take it to mean that I am now free to eat ice-cream ad infinitum.

The food is always fresh and we'll prepared. The wait staff are irreverent in a comfortable manner. Some are more reserved than others, but then there the two brothers who are deserving of their own comedy act. They don't take themselves too seriously until it comes to the food. Don't be too surprised if you are told, "no soy sauce please", or "Chef Tojo has put enough wasabi in roll!", as they decline to five you more. They will if you insist, but you'll mask the flavors of the offering. Some will embrace the spirit of the restaurant, others will let their preconceptions of what a Japanese restaurant should be blind them to a new experience...

The cafe was clean and a good menu. Good coffee and snacks. Friendly staff.

Pub-like experience. Good selection of beers and pub style food. They no longer have their truffle fries which is sad - but this has been replaced by rosemary fries - almost as good, but not quite. Good burgers and selection of appetizers.

Oh my lord. The selection! Such good deserts there. Reasonable prices too - and it looks like everything is made on site. There is a small seating area but it's pretty cramped. it looks like most people pre-order and come collect the cakes, pastries, cookies and other sweet stuff. They also sell bread and granola (but made by Terra Breads). Coffee and espresso drinks also available. Waitstaff are mostly younger, friendly and helpful. If you're staying in for your drink and food, take a table - they'll come take your order.

A community centre that serves the Coal Harbour area. It's a bit smaller than the ones further out of the city but has a fair number of programs. No pool or outdoor fields though. However, the views from the water facing rooms are spectacular as they face the water and the mountains!

A great park for the occasional run and/or dog walk. It's not as scenic as the North Shore, but if you really don't feel like fighting the bridge traffic to get over to the North Shore (assuming you're in Vancouver), then it's a good compromise.

Standard safeway - deli and bakery. Good selection here. Open till at least 11pm. Have self-checkout counter too so useful if you're running to get the one item and there's a huge line up at the cashiers. Also very close to the Commercial n and Broadway transit centre so useful if you're on transit. Parking is okay but with construction going on around there (January 2016) some access is limited. Best to go in from Broadway, headed East.
