Too bad I missed it :-(
+Don VanDemark  Think of it as egoistic vs social/altruistic.
This is the difference: Nash equilibrium is egoistic in the sense it is about what's better for you , no matter what other people do.
On the other hand Pareto Optimal outcome is when there is  *no other* outcome that'll be better for someone and at least as good for the others. That's why in Prisoner's dilemma (- 3, - 3) is Nash (because the best strategy from every prisoner's POV is to defect) but it's not Pareto-optimal, because (- 1, - 1) is obviously better for both prisoners.

Hello from Orlando, Florida, USA.

If I may make a suggestion, this group may be best for gathering resources, asking specific questions and arranging times for hangouts. I don't know that there has to be one set time for the whole group. Anyone can step up and say "I'm planning to have a hangout on January 10 at 10PM EST. I'll start the hangout and post a link here for anyone that wants to join"

That way, people can join when able and don't necessarily have to stick to the same group of people every week.

Just a suggestion, if others want to form regular groups that meet at specific times, that is a great way to do it too. I just know my schedule may not allow me to do so.

By the way, yes, I plan on having a hangout on January 10 at 10PM EST. I'll start the hangout and post a link here for anyone that wants to join. :)  The plan will be to be through the videos by that point.

Just to second your motion and good idea, click on "event" on the left side of the screen just under "all posts" to create it. I suspect this listing will be unscrollable by Thursday, and you may or may not be able to pin it to the top.

#knowyourphp #php #programming #webdev #arrays

Since +Andrew Riley is off this week traipsing around the globe and this article hit my Twitter stream overnight, I figured I'd share with the group that was following these tags.
How big are PHP arrays (and values) really? (Hint: BIG!) 12. December 2011. Upfront I want to thank Johannes and Tyrael for their help in finding some of the more hidden memory usage. In this post I w...

Forcing myself to touch-type today. Slow and painful but I know it's good for me.
