I've known this lady for years, she's a retired waitress from a local restaurant, have done a ton of work for her son on several of his properties........ and she calls me to help her out of her jamb knowing that she should have called me originally for the work instead of trying to save money and get some unlicensed handyman to do it cheaper.
For a moment I thought for sure it was going to end violently, threats were made but I kept my cool and got it diffused instead. He'd already been paid $1000 and wanted another $650 before leaving...and well that wasn't going to and didn't happen. He'd only half demo'd the bathroom and all his subfloor repairs need to be ripped out and redone correctly.
Anyway, I'm left wondering....why did I even stick my neck out on this? Happy Friday!
At least the son did call to thank me a few days later for helping her that day. And I know I'll be doing his kitchen and whatever other projects in the future.
I just can't honestly say that I'd get in the middle of other people's poor choices again, after them just making a similar choice anyway and flat out ignoring me after helping them out that day.
