Things change, and mostly for the better, when you realize that your point of diminishing returns with money and stuff is much lower than you once believed it to be.
Perhaps the most difficult transition for me in that regard is losing the part of motivation and ambition that is fueled by the craving for more money and things than I have at present.
These past three years in which I've felt intellectually driven to fully monetize my work - largely due to the indoctrination that the only real proof that the work I'm doing is worthwhile or productive is money - have found me often conflicted.
Not because I have anything against earning money. I've done that for much of my life, and making an honest living is nothing to balk at.
But because for some reason, at my core, I don't want to commoditize this work I've been doing for three years.
Writing away the pain of certain extraordinary events, sharing my experiences and life lessons with anyone who might find comfort or resonance, relaying it all through my passion for food, and hopefully inspiring others to find the same kind of healing, joy, and meaning in cooking...
FOR THE REST:
If you circle me here, be advised I have nothing to sell, nothing I believe, and am convinced that one shouldn't even be convinced. But I'm full of love, full of sorrow, full of desire to be here now.
