Photobox on Front Page of the Financial Times - kudos !
Christmas presents normally come with your name on them. Increasingly, they have your face plastered on them too. Personalised presents – whether T-shirts, mugs or phone cases – are becoming staple gifts. In north west London, the factory of

FAI - Villa del Balbianello
Via Comoedia 5, 22016 Lenno Province of Como, Italy
Unforgettable gardens and buildings on promontory dominating Lake Como. One of the 10 most beautiful spots in the world in my experience. Unsurprisingly, the set for scenes in Star Wars and Casino Royale. A 30 minute walk from the boat stop at Lenno takes you into a set of carefully crafted small landscapes all of which take your breath away. Poorly highlighted on Google Maps... deliberate secret ?

As ever, the BBC News Online team have produced the definitive guide to Sunday on the Thames. Many a tear shall well, I reckon. No other media outlet has produced anything nearly as informative, simple and elegant for the WWW.      1,000 boats including the little ships of Dunkirk.
The Thames River Pageant is the biggest event of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year. Navigate our interactive graphic and find out more about the boats taking part.

This simple retail story has potential impact way beyond the obvious. Media censorship in GCC today is extreme (books, films, music), wildly inefficient and often arbitrary. People here live behind a media firewall that is simply medieval. Yet hunger for consuming media amongst young and old is on the rise like everywhere else. WH Smith's move might contribute to the gradual relaxing of access to content. Censorship processes might be modernised and streamlined. Regulators might recognise that their populations are already tunnelling out to YouTube, iTunes and iPlayer by the millions and that their already tenuous credibility might be enhanced by a bold step into the 21st century. Media dreams.
UK retail giant WH Smith has announced expansion plans in the Gulf region as it looks to offset weakness on Britain's high streets. The newspapers, books and stationery retailer, which operates ov...

Hard not to tear up on reading this amazing story. Not sure I'll ever browse Google Earth and not think of him. http://t.co/APimHVkC (thanks to Peter Horrocks for the tip).
