Out on the HMNZS Canterbury, Chris takes DIPSI 1 through techniques for mapping and penetrating wrecks safely. This is a precursor to the instructor training they will soon be undertaking to teach the PADI Wreck Specialty... What a week :-)

Team sidemount during the tired diver tows on day one of the PADI Sidemount Diver Course at Auckland Scuba. We are the premier dive centre in New Zealand for teaching sidemount divers and sidemount instructors with around 6 courses running per year you can jump onto one of these programs and learn how to dive with 2 cylinders, extending your dives and even progressing in skills inscuba diving.

After the PADI Sidemount Program you will be able to dive with 2 cylinders within your current certification and enjoy 90-100 min dives(maybe longer) at the Poor Knights, White Island, Bay of Islands Wrecks, Rainbow Warrior and much more with us. Follow the website link to find out more and see when we are running our next PADI Sidemount Program.

Photo: Chris Hailey our resident PADI Sidemount Instructor Trainer and Course Director. Come into the shop and talk to Chris about the programs and how much fun you'll have learning new skills with him :-)

Congratulations to Michael and Kay on completing their PADI Rescue Course with Chris this weekend!!! We are not sure this is the correct way to help someone get out of the water though Kay? lol

Our Next PADI Rescue Course will be in April so if you are an advanced diver or are working up to being an advanced diver then give us a call about joining the PADI Rescue Diver program and learning how to take care of not only yourself but everyone else around you :-)

Join us for the PADI Rescue Diver Course this weekend. If you are an advanced diver with a few dives under your belt and are looking to progress your skills and be able to look after other divers in trouble then this is the course for you. During the program we will be teaching students how to rescue themselves and buddies while scuba diving. Both days of this course are going to be up at the Leigh area where we will practice surface drills before doing 2 dives a day. Areas we will cover are:

Self Rescue
Tired Divers
Panic Divers
Distressed Divers Underwater
Missing Divers - Search Patterns
Surfacing Unresponsive Divers
Unconscious Divers at the surface
Responding from Shore to Unresponsive Divers
Oxygen Management

Its going to be a great weekend and if you missed this one and are still wanting to do the course we have another Rescue Course running on the 21/22 April 2018

Chris is showing Patrick where he leaves his fins while on a sidemount dive at Goat island... Who needs fins to demonstrate fin kicking technique on a PADI Sidemount or PADI Self Reliant Instructor Course anyway lol. Great Job to Pat who is now a PADI Sidemount and PADISelf Reliant Instructor. Also welcome to the team dude :-)
