Wind and Waves: Meet Brian Haus

Professor Brian Haus (University of Miami) focuses on air-sea interactions and how the ocean transports all things. Dr. Haus conducts his research at the Air-Sea Interaction Salt Water Tank (ASIST) – a unique facility that creates wind-waves in a controlled environment.

Deepwater Horizon Impacts on Dolphins

Since Deepwater Horizon, oceanographers Kait Fraiser and John Hildebrand have been studying dolphins in the area of the spill.

It takes a long time for environmental impacts to work their way up the food chain to top predators like these and other marine mammals. This means long-term, multidiscipline studies are needed to track the changes to the dolphin population.

Fortunately, there is a "village" of collaborative marine researchers making this happen.
