With the recent heatwave in Texas and other areas of the USA, we asked our engineers what extreme heat can do to LEDs.
Turns out quite a bit! It's the number one reason that LEDs fail! They explained that cheaply made, low quality LEDs use an epoxy that is subpar and breaks down in high temperatures, causing premature failure.
Happily, the LEDs in our signs can endure continuous operation at temperatures up to 176 F without diminishing their 11+ year lifespan.
The good news... you won't have to repair our signs in the middle of a heatwave. :)
