"The Reasons Why Twitter Is The Best Social Media Platform For Your Start-up Business" via Forbes
“Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half”, said John Wanamaker, a department store merchant, back in the early twentieth century. If Wanamaker had been alive today, he would have been forced to eat his words. It’s never been easier to [...]

"The 10 Biggest Social Media Time Wasters" via Forbes
I started some research on some of the ways people waste time on social media and came across a bunch of articles from the late 2000s discussing whether or not social was a big waste of time for businesses. It’s funny to look back on that time period now; social [...]

“There’s still a massive misconception that women are behind the times and that men and young people are far more digitally savvy - which isn’t true." Great feature on our co-founders Nikki and Kathryn by Melanie Hick http://www.melaniehick.com/kin-magazine-contributor/

They've built a family offline, let them build you a family online
Introduction
Digital Mums is an initiative which retrains mums to be social media managers and links them to the local businesses.

Mums are highly suited to a community manager role. They are active users of social media. Many of the skills needed to build a loyal family online are all those associated with building a family offline. Strong communications skills, mature judgement and a level-headed attitude, empathy and the ability to juggle ten things at once!

The community manager role is perfect for mums. It offers flexibility in number of days worked, with the option to work from home. Unlike most part time roles it is well paid and has great career prospects.
