Great article by our partner +ICRISAT Director General, David Bergvinson.

"Digital technology will be key to increasing agriculture productivity... One of the best examples originating from India is Digital Green. It uses participatory videos that have farmers explain best management practices to other farmers. This approach is ten times more cost effective than traditional extension services as farmers trust other farmers more given they can better relate to someone like them who are building a livelihood under similar circumstances."

Read this interesting post to learn what "A.I.D.s" behaviour change in agricultural and health extension...
I am an optimistic skeptic of ICT4D and ICTforAg. The potential role of ICT in Development is obvious, but we often seem to be overselling the current reality. Donors and governments all too often are looking for an overly simplistic ICT solution to their rural development and Agriculture woes. The cry seems to be “Give me the App (or whatever ICT thingamajig) and fix my problems now!” The answering call is “Fund me and I will solve all your prob...

“Disseminating videos is just like teaching with technology for a greater impact among my community,” says a proud Poonam.
