Do you know that a child usually started to learn counting by ROTE MEMORIZATION?🤔🤔🤔

It means they'll likely to say the numbers easily from one to ten because they already memorized the sequence of the number.

But they might not know how to actually count the quantity of given objects..

So what's the difference between this and the actual counting on 'how many are the objects'?

I shared these different counting stages, as well as some play ideas in my latest post on the blog ▶️▶️

On the blog I shared an activity to learn numerals and number words for 1st grader!
Let the child recognising the correct number word (with its spelling) for each numeral. I made my own number cards here, one set for the numerals 1 to 10, and another set with the number words ‘one’ to ‘ten’. Then we played the memory game with those number cards.

Don't all kids love outdoor play? What about playing with leaves and flowers while they can learn counting as well?

Why do we learn maths? Why do we need maths in life? Imagine your first grader stared blankly at the homework sheet in front of her. She sighed heavily, grumbled a long complaints, "Why do I need to learn maths? Why do we need maths? Can't we just leave those numbers alone.."
