Here's something I saw at the NYC Transit Museum that I had totally forgotten about. Subway trains that had no doors between cars. You could walk the entire length of the train passing through the enclosed walkway between cars. It rotated so it was fun to stand on during tight curves as the train moved. It had white handles on both sides to hang onto.

Hey +Dick DeBartolo
I'll be coming into the city from Long Island on the 29th for a doctor visit. Would you be able to give an approximate idea what a taxi would cost going from Penn to East 72nd street ( 523 ). Or the cost of a parking garage for 8 hours or so. Taxi for 2 people
Thanks!!!!

..Just read that in response to accusations of an abusive workplace environment, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos assured employees Tuesday that the company's human resources staff was working 100 hours a week …   Hmmmm....isn't the normal work week 40 hours? Or is a 100 hours at Amazon?

Uh, Dick.  That 100 hour thing was from the Onion.

Went to the NYC Transit Museum today with Dennis and Chris. (His sister, my sister-in-law.) Not sure I understand the markings on this case of dynamite in the "building the subway" section. So did the Red Cross approve dynamite at some point? And "extra dynamite", is that like buying coffee that's 'extra bold'? Strange.

"Red Cross" is a product name for dynamite that DuPont made.
"Extra Dynamite" uses ammonium nitrate as a substitute for the more costly nitroglycerin that was more commonly used.
"40%" is the amount of explosive compared to "dope" (filler) used in the making of dynamite. You could get different percentages based on the strength you needed. Commonly 30%, 40% or 60% nitroglycerin (or ammonium nitrate) depending on use (in quarrying, lower percentile to move rock, higher percentile to shatter rock).

I'm working on a wireless version. Tests so far are positive. We find that talking louder we're getting a 12+ foot range, twice the original corded version!
