The doctors and anesthetists were an insignificant proportion of the bill. What REALLY cost were the hospital (R6 000 a day for shockingly poor care and a shared room/cubicle - pay 5 days upfront cash before going into surgery!!!) and the "physiotherapist", who charged a thousand rand to walk him around the ward twice a day. Mostly she chatted to the nurses and he walked on his own. She saw almost every person in the ward - she must have made R10 000 for a morning.
The nurses ate almost all his food (they insisted he chose from the menu even when he wasn't allowed to eat so they would get their meals). They couldn't even provide a fan in 40 degree temperatures. He got better quality - and probably more qualified - care at home.
The doctors are fine, it's the unqualified, untrained and lazy hangers on that you need to get rid of! And we won't even talk about the cost of ordinary disprin and bandages medication in a hospital!
I'm a night owl, and I do my best creative work from about 2pm to 8pm. I avoid meetings, but I always schedule them for the morning. I've been doing it for 13 years and I am so much more productive than I was in a big corporate.
PS: I have given up commenting on websites because they want so much information and require social media account details. If I have something to add, I put it on G+. Is anyone else finding commenting on websites a bit too demanding?
I don't have kids, but there are many women who work AND have kids. My husband is pretty good (as men go), but he also has gardens to mow and other "male" chores.
