Not many people know that, but IBM is probably one of the most knowledgeable companies when it comes to social media. They started exploring social technology
back in 1970 when their mainframe programmers used discussion forums on the System 370 consoles.
When I watched "Reaching Key Decision Makers Through Social Networks" by +GlobalWebIndex
(kindly shared by +Denis Labelle
), I got curious to learn more about what +Sandy Carter
of IBM had to offer in this relatively short video. Namely, a *2012 CEO Study" with over 1700 CEOs in 64 countries that uncovers importance of social media in their future planning and decision making.
What do CEOs have to say about social media, hyper-connected world and other media when it comes to conversations with clients, prospects and employees? Apparently, the CEOs in this study revealed themselves as very progressive people willing to accept technology in the life of their companies. I am surprised to see this kind of dynamism! And thank you IBM people for this goldmine of social media knowledge that I uncovered through this study and some additional searches :-)
