Hanging out in the trees. Spider monkey in Mexico. Did you know its tail can support its entire weight and therefore, is used as an extra limb? #monkey #photography #wildlifephoto

On a bit of a bird craze, but I am in Florida where birds are plentiful. This is a beautiful white ibis. Be careful of the males during nesting season as male white Ibises are super protective of the nest and his female. #birdphotography #birdphoto #wildlife

Did you know the Pileated Woodpecker holes can be so broad and deep that they can cause small trees to break in half? That's just craziness. These birds are the size of crow. #birdphotography #birdphoto #woodpecker

While out kayaking near Collier Seminole State Park, I watched this little green heron catch a meal. So cool. #birdphotography #collierseminolestatepark #wildlifewednesday

Never before have I seen a great blue heron doing this! I almost laughed when I saw it. The bill open is what got me. Anyone else find this funny?

All the forest fires this year have been devastating. This photo was taken in Kootenay National Park where there was a fire raging during my visit to Banff. The smoke was terrible and driving through it was like really, really thick fog. The smoke burned my eyes and lungs. I couldn't resist taking a photo to capture the mood. My thoughts go out to all those displaced and affected by the wildfires.

This fall I enjoyed some serene kayaking in the panhandle of Florida. It was remote, quiet and oh so peaceful. I also was inspired by the leaves floating on the water. Let me tell you it is NOT easy to photograph moving objects while being in a moving object. But I love how this one turned out. Anyone else get a good feeling from this photo?
