The C programming language (and similar languages) use a coding concept called "pointers". Pointers point to a memory address. The pointer itself does not contain the data. Rather, the pointer stores the memory address (like the index of a book). Many people may have problems understanding pointers and addressing, so I hope this helps.

The Linux command-line has numerous uses and abilities. The command-line and shell scripting are also capable of manipulating text including text within files. An introduction to many of the command-line tools for text manipulation is important to people wanting to have a better experience with the Linux operating system.

The GNU Binutils are a part of the GNU Toolchain and commonly used with the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC). However, the GNU Binutils alone contain over a dozen tools that programmers can use. Since GNU is such an important component of Linux, it may help Linux users to know about this package.

WEP is a common WiFi security algorithm that has been found to have many security flaws. This security algorithm is so weak that it can be hacked in about fifteen minutes or less. Since Linux and most of its software is open-source, this makes it easy for anyone to hack WEP WiFi hotspots.

WEP stands for "wire equivalent protocol" and is not encrypted at all. If you're using WEP every packet is in clear text.

The Intel Intrinsic headers provide optimized functions that take advantage of the processor's specialized features. Each intrinsic family has its own header. This article lists such headers and the associated processor feature.

This article introduces readers to Glade, which is a popular WYSIWYG for GTK interfaces. Glade generates an XML file with the extension "*.glade". Developers can then use special bindings/libraries in their code that allows the program to load the GUI that is defined in the *.glade file. However, before application developers can get that far in their design, they need to understand Glade and the various widgets that can be placed on a window.
