SOLAR CAR TEAM TAKES 3RD PLACE IN NATIONAL RACE
Devon Prep’s Solar Car Team took Third Place in the national 2014 Austin Energy Solar Car Challenge. This year’s race was a hybrid event with two days on the Texas Motor Speedway and two days on the open road driving from Fort Worth to Austin, Texas. On the Speedway the Team completed 142 laps, and on the open road they drove 402.6 miles, earning them Third Place overall among the 12 teams in the Classic Division. What an awesome job! Devon Prep’s Solar Car Team, The Devon Panel, will travel to Texas for the 2014 Austin Energy Solar Car Challenge from Monday, July 21 to Thursday, July 24.

SCIENCE TEACHER VOTED DEVON"S "COOLEST TEACHER"
Congratulations to Science Teacher Ms. Melanie Picard who was voted "The Coolest Teacher at Devon Prep" in the ‪#‎CoolestTeacher‬ contest on The Preston & Steve Show on 93.3 WMMR. Melanie has taught middle school and upper school science at Devon Prep for the past four years.

’97 ALUMNUS NAMED TRUSTEE OF UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME
Congratulations to Rev. Gerard J. Olinger, C.S.C., '97, who has been appointed one of 8 new Trustees elected to three-year terms on the Board of Trustees of University of Notre Dame. Father Olinger serves as Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Portland and is a concurrent Assistant Professor of Political Science. He previously worked in residence life, Campus Ministry and as Executive Assistant to the President at Portland.

COACH SANBORN WINS 100TH CROSS COUNTRY DUAL MEET
Congratulations to Cross Country Coach Paul Sanborn who recently won his 100th dual meet. His record is currently 101-31. In the past 16 years Coach Sanborn's cross country teams won six District I championships, two Southern Chester County League (SCCL) championships and four SCCL National Division championships. Two of his teams were top five state finalists, and he has had two runners win three medals on the state level. In addition he’s had three perfect 8-0 seasons and 28 shutouts. He was also named the Bicentennial Athletic League (BAL) Cross Country Coach of the year in 2011.
Paul Sanborn recently won his 100th Cross Country dual meet as Devon Prep’s coach. His current record at Devon Prep is 101-31.

Devon Pre's Varsity  Baseball Team recently won the PIAA Class A State Championship - the first state championship of any kind in the history of the school.
It may have been Friday the 13th but bad luck was not a problem for Devon Prep’s Varsity Baseball team as they won the PIAA Class A State Championship against Elk County Catholic on June 13 on Medlar Field on the Penn State University campus.

VARSITY BASEBALL TEAM WINS DISTRICT TITLE
Congratulations to the varsity baseball team who won the PIAA District 1 Class A championship on Thursday, defeating Calvary Christian 7 – 0. Devon Prep scored six runs with two outs in the bottom of the fourth behind a three-run homer from Junior Tyler Klicka. Junior pitcher Patrick Rohr got the win. The bleachers and sidelines were filled with parents, faculty, friends, students and alumni who came out to watch the TIDE win. After receiving their own championship medals the team presented Mr. Pat Nattle with a medal as well. The TIDE will now face York Catholic High School in the first round of States.

Introduction
Devon Prep is a private, Catholic, college preparatory school for young men in grades six through 12 conducted by the Piarist Fathers. Nearly 300 students attend Devon Prep which is located on a 20 acre campus on Philadelphia's Main Line, in Devon PA.
