We've had a blast creating the first version of MyoSharp, an open source C# wrapper for working with Thalmic's Myo armband. Check it out!

A colleague of mine recently suggested that I try out Google Keep instead of Evernote. I'm loving the differences so far! Try hacking your TODO lists!

Leadership... What does it mean? I've put together another weekly article summary covering a handful of LinkedIn articles that I shared this week and wanted to discuss.

Kendall Matthews has a cool perspective on hiring. He wants to make sure that you haven't lost your ability to constantly question and to ensure that you can think on your feet. He also presents a couple examples of what other leaders look for when hiring. Check it out!

I'm excited to announce that the first C# Dev/Connect meetup will be held this Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 at Magnet Forensics HQ here in Waterloo! Chris Sippel will be giving a short talk on threading in C#, we'll have an opportunity to code a few threading exercises, and we'll even have food provided! Come check it out!

Here's my first in a series of posts I'm going to put together on why you should have programming side-projects and my experiences with my own.

Continuous improvement is important even for your regular leadership responsibilities. Here's a tweak I made to try and improve mine:

Continuous improvement involves making small changes over time to adapt your process. See how I've been adapting my one on ones with my team for the better.

Had to #refactor any #code lately? Here's my real life example and my push for #mocking and #interfaces! http://ow.ly/zcCzT #DevLeader
Code won't always be perfect. Sometimes you're going to need to refactor, and interfaces are one of your best friends when it comes time to mock and test.

This year I was fortunate enough to attend Techno Security in Myrtle Beach. This conference was packed with incredible info sessions and the opportunity to speak with customers and leaders in the industry was amazing. I'm crossing my fingers that I'll get the opportunity to go back next year!

Bridging the Gap Between Software Development and Leadership Roles
Introduction
The purpose of Dev Leader is to help people in software development roles as well as leadership roles. Ideally, people in technical leadership roles (in the software industry, usually a combination of a developer and a people leader) will benefit most from the content offered.
