10 SEO Blog Posts I'm Most Proud Of

Every since reading Rand Fishkin, Aaron Wall, Michael Gray and Rae Hoffman when I first entered SEO, I've considered myself blessed to publish even a single post on the subject that anyone might find useful.

It's not easy to talk about yourself (and I've certainly written more than a few turkeys) but looking back on my work the past few years there's a few posts which still stand the test of time and I believe are useful to new SEOs even now.

If I had to list my 10 favorite posts to recommend to SEOs today, the list would include:

1. 10 Super Easy SEO Copywriting Tips for Improved Link Building

Google can do anything to generate more revenue.
Google Changes Exact Match to Include "Close Variants" & Misspellings - What Can SEOs Do?

http://moz.com/blog/keyword-research-and-targeting-without-exact-match-whiteboard-friday This week's new Whiteboard Friday is all about doing keyword research now that "exact match" isn't really "exact" anymore, and the ability to get precise keyword data from AdWords is gone.

We also dorked out with our "Rando Calrissian" theme on the WB visual :-)

Great Article!!
Great post. Seriously worth a read if you want to see the sophistication and data modeling that can now be applied to SERPs: http://mz.cm/LBDw26

Conclusions:

- Relevance signals are still important, but having too many is not helpful.
- Having a lot of brand signals and some relevance is better than having a lot of relevance and no brand or authority.

“If you have 1 million links with anchor text and no brand links then you have a problem.”
