Riff Randall: squeaky-cleanest "Bad Girl" ever. Love this movie!

My favorite bit in this scene is Dee Dee in the shower. Well, favorite after PJ Soles in her undies, that is. . .

I love the idea that when they recommended Arch Enemy, she had to go to a record store and buy the CD. That's how we used to have to do it, Kids. :-P  #getoffmylawn

Today, they'd have just pulled up the music on youtube, and she would immediately have known what Angela looks like.

Also, she pronounces it Uh-Lee-sa. Good to know.

I guess it's just the expression on her face, but she looks terrified when singing. I would wonder if she had stage fright, if she also sounded nervous while singing or struggled to speak between songs (she doesn't seem to be).

Regardless, terrific versions. I agree with the video's description that it would be nice to hear these tunes with just a single acoustic guitar, especially "Mother".

I wonder how often banjo and sitar get played together?

This is an otherworldly performance.

The boys doing their best Exile-era Stones sound! Unexpected, but enjoyable.

Aerosmith's Crazy!  I haven't watched this video in a good ten years or more, but youtube put it alongside something else I was watching. (I don't even remember what - Guns N' Roses, maybe)  I am reminded of two very important lessons here:

1. If you're a really ridiculously good-looking teenage girl, the clerk will let you and your ridiculously good-looking teenage girlfriend shoplift the frak out of a convenience store. It's just good manners to give him some topless pictures when you're finished, though, as a thank you.

2. Black leather pants are a good look on Liv Tyler - and there was a time when she was an absolute stunner. (As a college kid during the time of this video, I knew this fact to be true, of course - but it's nice to be reminded.)

"The paramedic thinks I'm clever cause I play guitar.
I think she's clever cause she stops people dying."

Genius! Why have I not heard of this girl before today? Her album is going on my to-buy list for sure.

I have seen Neko live, so I am well acquainted with her genius. But what can y'all tell me about Kelly Hogan? Is she in a band? Record solo albums?

She has a longstanding indie rock band ground as a singer in bands and a super impressive resume as backup singer for people. She's worked with people from Vic Chesnutt to Andrew Bird to Mavis Staples and Stephin Merritt. She's had some solo albums--her last one is the fabulous I Like To Keep Myself in Pain which is comprised of songs written for her by people she's collaborated with in the past. She's got a tiny desk concert promoting it.

I see there's a "Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" in set 1. Love me some Jerry Band '76 on that tune - second only to Levon himself on it. And thanks to Jerry's soloing, sometimes it even beats out Levon's versions.

I saw them on that reunion tour in 1999, mentioned around 43.30, and they were fantastic. They headlined big hairband summer shows for the next few years, and I liked them every time.

Also around that time, CC Deville solo was supposed to open for Firehouse, but he never showed. (Firehouse were very good, though - better than CC would have been)

I am Me, but I am not yet the Me I want to Be.
Introduction
In the past, I have defined myself by the description below. But as I near age 40, I realize that aiming for those things alone has made me 200+ pounds overweight, homebound, and socially inept. So I have started working towards becoming a new Me -- the Me I should have become decades ago.

My current focus is fitness, nutrition, and personal growth. I still like the 'geeky' stuff, but I am working on finding perspective. :-D

When I get down to 350, I plan to start Grappling again. There're a lot of great BJJ schools in Denver. I am currently working out at Title Boxing Club in Thornton, CO.

Good times. I am basically a supergeek with delusions of being cool. I like a little bit of everything. I'll listen to Lady Gaga and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Or Kellie Pickler and Kristin Chenoweth. I love sappy romantic comedies as well as mindless explosions. Lately, I am obsessed with stand-up comedy.
