A client recently asked me why they should care about file sizes for their podcast. I stumbled on the question big time... the only answer I could come up with was from the perspective of podcast hosts - to keep your podcast under the upload limits of your hosting plan.

But now I'm wondering: why should a podcaster care, other than the limit the host puts in place? Clearly they should care about audio quality, but why not encode everything at 320kbps (assuming they don't go over the hosting limits)?
