Google could release their own ad-blocker for Chrome

The ad-blocking feature, which could be switched on by default within Chrome, would filter out certain online ad types deemed to provide bad experiences for users as they move around the web.

Seeing as advertisements are main source for Google's revenue, I'm sure if they introduced a feature like this, the ad-blocker would only block ads on sites that are 'bad' or don't meet certain criteria.

Since Chrome is the world's #1 web browser, behavior as this would greatly impact all users across the web, across all browsers and platforms. Everybody wins.

I hope this report is true. Ads are a necessary evil and we need a better solution than just blocking everything.
