Building Discussion  -

I want to build a new capable desktop but I'm on a budget of about $500. My employer has a deal with Tiger Direct allowing employees to get items at a great discount. So I'm inclined to shop there. My current pc is just getting way too old. I like staying up on tech, just can't afford keeping up on the hardware. (still running Vista on only 2GB RAM ugh) My phone out specs my pc now :-O I use it for mostly for Spreadsheets, Sketchup, FB, G+, YouTube video and some MMORPG but it's just not keeping up any more. I have a 22" HD monitor and bought a GPU hoping it would help but it is not getting the most out of it as my chipset won't support the updates. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't looked at the benchmarks lately but the Intel processors have been more powerful in the past but AMD kinda has the gaming market. With the AMD chipset it should be upgradeable for a while since they haven't changed the socket for like ever. You will get more for your dollar with AMD. Intel is kinda over priced for their own good but they are powerful. I would think you would be better getting more parts on the AMD side. On Intel you could probably afford the cpu, motherboard, and maybe memory.

Internet Safety PLEASE SHARE IT!
I'm not the hugest fan of these things, but nothing feels better than watching a bunch of ignorant teens swallow a huge mouthful of #Truth sauce! I'll be posting image view updates on this, at a semi-regular interval & then graphing it for the purpose of this exercise. Kids need to realize the rate at which information, images, and comments can traverse the globe.

I've had a long-standing love for Helvatia Tavern, however my visit this time was disappointing to say the least. While their outdoor seating did have a nice wheelchair accessible ramp area none of the tables outside were wheelchair accessible for seating. In the 90's while I was able bodied I used to frequent Helvatia for the jumbo burger. So when I went this time to order a jumbo burger expecting the same burger I'd always gotten I found out everything is ala cart. Cheese is extra, bacon is extra, ham is extra and other toppings are extras such as jalapenos, even the fries are extra! It took about an hour to get our food to us, which I thought was rather long. I know some people have put this is a low cost eatery, but I think $30 for two to eat is more medium range. Not to mention it's cash only, no credit cards, no checks and they charge you to get money out of their ATM. I don't think I'll be going back :-( you can get just as good of a burger from 5 Guys for much less and very fast!

This place has great burgers and fries. But the star here for me at least, is the Coney sausage dog. A perfectly spiced sausage with casing to give it that snap, and the Coney sauce is the bomb!
