An iconic Hawaiian landmark, Mokoli'i also known as Chinaman's Hat sits on the eastern side of the island off of Kualoa Regional Park. The park is gated at night and opens at 9am, so you're forced to park off the highway to catch a sunrise here. There's a ton of photos of this place out there and this is one of my interpretations.
Drone video of dolphins stampede and whales (mommy & baby). Amazing how drone technology changes our view of the natural world. Captain Dave says at the end of the video the equipment he used to film it.
It’s hard to describe seeing a glacier for the first time: the seemingly unnatural color, how still it appears to be when in fact it is a moving river, the god-like size that reminds you of your fragile, ephemeral life…I couldn’t stop staring until I had become completely enchanted: http://annstreetstudio.com/2014/01/16/patagonia-water/
The ambiance totally lives up to its reputation. Sunset was absolutely gorgeous. Restaurant was kid friendly too - they gave my kids 2 stuffed humu toys and fish food to feed the fishies in the pond.
The food was quite good. Better than expected. Had the seared ahi with pho broth which was recommended by our host. The broth was very yummy.
