Slan to Google Authorship. It ended last week when I was on hols.

RIP Google Authorship

It's official - Google Authorship is no more.

+John Mueller writes:

"We've gotten lots of useful feedback from all kinds of webmasters and users, and we've tweaked, updated, and honed recognition and displaying of authorship information. Unfortunately, we've also observed that this information isn’t as useful to our users as we’d hoped, and can even distract from those results. With this in mind, we've made the difficult decision to stop showing authorship in search results"

It's not really a suprise but very disappointing - back in June I wrote about the Google Authorship Update where Author images and Circle counts would no longer be visible in search results https://plus.google.com/+KrishnaDe/posts/fnQBt5eZ5QR

All these changes and the implications are pretty tough to keep up with especially if you are a small business don't you think?!

Anyone who follows Google knows that nothing it creates is immune from elimination. Like so many efforts before it, Authorship is fading into the sunset.

This week's marketing article/tip has this title: 'What the Wolf of Wall Street and Marketing have in common'. This is a quote from the movie and loved it (even the straight talking nature of it.)

Share if you agree - "the only thing standing between you and your goal is the bullsh*t story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it."

Last week's blog topic - 'How to keep your readers reading' was one of the most clicked through emails that I've sent out this year. Find out how you can keep your readers reading by using flow phrases or 'bridge phrases.
It's important to keep your marketing material flowing - every sentence must flow into the next or else your reader is gone. Discover some secrets to keeping

Did you see that Burger King launched a new tagline - 'Be your way'.

I've been discussing this with some marketing colleagues and some copy-writing colleagues and the reaction: Why bother?

Can something that doesn't make sense really make you feel different and encourage self-expression?

Here's what the marketing folk at BK say the slogan is all about:"It's OK to not be perfect. Self-expression is most important and it's our differences that make us individuals instead of robots."

They were using 'Taste is King' before the recent change..it was 'Have it your way' before that...but 'Be your way' "elevates [it] to a state that's much more emotional and centered around around self-expression."

Here's an article about it by +Advertising Age  - and please don't be shy, let me know your thoughts on 'Be your way'.

Is the game changer some people say it is? Only you can say if you try it. I think it's good for international advertising. But here is a great article to learn a bit more about Facebook ad scheduling. http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/facebook-ad-scheduling/
Do you use Facebook advertising? This explores what Facebook ad scheduling is, where to find it and how to use it.
