Clean install (factory reset) and flashed Resurrection_Remix_LP_v5.3.8_stable-20150311-i9305

Works great, nice to be able to have Lollipop now on my i9305 since CM doesn't support it yet. So thanks a lot for that! :)

Only issue I have is with intermittent data radio. Drive to work this morning testing data and GPS and it all worked wonderfully. Afterwards I noticed the data icon showing an exclamation mark and no data connection.

I've tried multiple radios for the i9305: XXUENA2, XXALK3, XXUEND1 and even XXUEMK1 (which I pulled from stock Samsung ROM). No radio problems with CM or stock Samsung ROM. So just wondering if there's an issue lurking in Resurrection interfering with the radio?

Unfortunately for me it didn't help if I changed my data speed. It was as if the radio was just dead. I was eager to try out Lollipop since CM haven't released a version for my phone yet. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer (or get a new phone when my contract is up for renewal next month :) )

Thanks for the feedback though and good luck.

"This app is not available in your country" facepalm

Dear Google - I love your products, and use them daily. Just FYI, countries outside of the US have kids too.

This is not a mission critical software and it doesn't really require any soaking test. I bet it's just some licensing bs.

Thanks for a good effort in getting the build working for the i9305. Unfortunately too many crashing/completely unusable apps for me to use this (25 Jan 2015 nightly) build on a daily basis. Will wait for official build for my phone from CM - was just keen to try out Lollipop on my phone.

Apps that crashed/were unusable: Calculator, Dropbox, Email, launcher (sometimes needed multiple boots to work), sim-lock/pattern lock after boot. Chrome had serious graphical issues while scrolling and navigating pages.

Good luck with the rest of the dev.

Flash mobs with random public people are great - but what made this proposal stand out was that he used family and friends instead.

So good. So very, very good.

Okay, I gave this another fresh bash today. Complete clean Factory reset, clear cache and Dalvik cache. Reflashed the 1 Feb 2015 ROM and did a new clean install. Installed all apps and they seemed to all work, until that is, I restarted the phone. Now after the boot animation, I get the launcher and desktop icons load and then the screen goes black. Only thing that works is dragging the notification/status bar down but clicking on anything doesn't launch anything.

Tried clearing cache and Dalvik cache again and even re-flashing the ROM but with the same result.

Reverting to my backup of CM11.

Busy re installing all apps and accounts after doing a complete system wipe and installing latest nightly (1st Feb 2015). So far so good. Will see how it goes the next couple of days. So far seems quite stable.

"How Secure Is Android, Really?" http://feedly.com/k/1gkoY7N
Dear Lifehacker, I keep hearing conflicting arguments on the state of Android security. Eric Schmidt says it's more secure than the iPhone, but people laughed at him. Plus, I keep hearing about the threat of Android malware. Who's right? Is Android safe? Should I install security software like I do on Windows?

I've been a little quiet here of the last while but I've finally found something I think is really worthwhile sharing.

If you have an Android phone, which is rooted, and it's a little sluggish to your liking, you need to have a look at Seeder and try it out:

Nice video comparison. Don't forget to check out part 2 as well. #AndroidOS vs #iOS

I share this just for having it on my list because I am lazy explaining to iFans why I don't (won't) buy an iOS device
