What does it look like I'm doing here:
-Hitting the crescendo in an Opera?
-Teaching folks how to Tango?
-Stylishly wearing white shoes and an 1/8th tucked shirt?
All of the above. Maybe.

A couple weekends ago, +Chastity Wells hosted 200 MLT (www.ml4t.org) students at Google headquarters. We had about 35 Googlers participating, spending their time networking with students, promoting the business side of Google, and giving them insight into our Culture. On Saturday, I took the stage for a few hours to teach classes related to Navigating Ambiguity and Presentation Skills. Good times!

Truth:

"You can have entire conversations where people sit around and say, ‘Well our strategic goal is to capture share and leverage our synergies.’ People nod but there’s not actually a precise understanding, and as a result of that you’re just wasting people’s time, and that just hurts my ears and soul."

Google's chief People Officer sat down with Forbes to discuss his forthcoming book, why you don't need a special strategy for recruiting millennials, and what's still on Google's to-do list.

Google is continuing to invest in CS!

CS First is a program Google's K-12 team launched to expand CS education in South Carolina ... and now it's national!
Google is teaming up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to bring a computer science program to more middle school students around the country.

A Road Warrior for Google. True Story.
Introduction
I like short sentences. I rarely speak my mind. I'm afraid of public speaking. I've never been to an airport. I never have original ideas. I think balloons are awesome. I'm scared of the snow. I'm never sarcastic.

I've definitely been to Chilly Willy's World. You're invited to come, but you have to contribute.

Remember, these views are mine... not my employer's... though they wish it was one and the same.
Bragging rights
I get to travel the country talking with the best and the brightest college students and finding the next best class of college new grads and interns. I also have a season pass to Squaw. I was backstage at the Google+ Stage at Austin City Limits.

Get that beer cheese broccoli soup; life changer. And watch out for their homemade hot sauce - it's strong!

Downstairs, just off the lobby, is The Living Room, The Records Room, and The Red Room. These are amazing places to chill and catch up with friends. Go on Mondays when it's Happy Hour All Day, and check out their website to see when there are free shows (usually also on Monday Nights). One of my favorite people watching locations: The W patio, right on the corner of 2nd and Lavaca.

The windows are papered up, it's dimly lit and looks like no one's home. Then the doors open and we're thrown into what is clearly a very new and very exciting restaurant. At 11pm on a Sunday, we were the only two customers in the place. The employees were amazing. They were energetic, they were excited about their pizza and they were happy to chat with us and make jokes and keep the place lively. The center piece at Bufalina is an enormous stone oven that they use to make the most delectable of (very) thin crust pizza's. A daily-changing menu with super fresh ingredients means that sometimes they run out of items. The ambiance is very cute; example: you get your bill in old-school paperback books. Yes, I'll be going there again.

Three words: Chocolate Espresso Martini. When they say it's one of the best cocktails in Austin, they are not kidding. This is a great place to start off a night, great lounge music, comfortable seating, and a nice layout.

AMAZING Venue! Easily my favorite in Austin. This is a great scene. Multiple options of where to watch from and the bar serves Tennessee Honey (JD Honey Whiskey!) Often, there is also an outside DJ.
