However, if you’re in a familiar environment where good or bad things may have happened, again, that will influence your emotional state, your thoughts, and your actions.
People — Whether through peer pressure, or a fondness toward someone, just being with other people can cause you to eliminate some choices as options and make other choices much more likely for you to choose.

Don't allow your circumstances to define you. Sometimes in life we are unfortunate but it's up to us to take the unfortunate situation and create it into fortune. Ray Charles was blind but he didn't allow his circumstance to have the final label on his name. He was one of the greatest artists that lived in the 20th century. We are not the subtotal of what people see. You were born an original don't die a copy.
