Map Depicts #Hacking in Real Time
Cyberattacks are insanely common, as a hacking map from cybersecurity intelligence firm Norse Corp. illustrates. It portrays attacks via an almost video game-like website that depicts where the strikes come from, where they hit and what type of attack they are.
"Every second, Norse collects and analyzes live threat intelligence from darknets in hundreds of locations in over 40 countries," the Norse map site says. "The attacks shown are based on a small subset of live flows against the Norse honeypot infrastructure, representing actual worldwide cyberattacks by bad actors."
What that means, a Norse exec told Newsweek recently, is that "the attacks you are seeing are actually on Norse’s infrastructure,” and the map represents "far less than 1 percent of the data we receive at any given time."
