Find out what I learned about feeding my family real food on the road while we traveled and moved this spring. #gapsdiet #foodallergies

{New Post} Forth of July Kombucha Gelatin

I decided to make this after finding really great blueberries at the farmer's market. I wanted something that would really feature their juicy freshness.

As part of trying to get ahead, instead of continually falling behind I am working on filling my freezer with (homemade) convenience foods. Spending a bit extra time when I cook to have easy meal options down the road.

Last Saturday I spent about an hour making sausage patties (it was a bit longer then that including photographing). They are some of the best sausages I have ever had, and now I get to have them for several future breakfasts.

Just in case you need a fun, naturally pink, Valentine's treat to make. I played on my honey marshmallow base to make give them a bit of pink tartness and lime flavor.

These (DF) ranch tenders are about as simple as can be. They are coated in potato flour (basically ground dried potatoes) so brown really well.

Please tell me I am not the only one who has gotten beets because they are beautiful, then wasn't sure what to do with them.

Maybe that is just me...

Anyway, we love this beet side dish Balsamic Basil Beets http://www.worthcooking.net/balsamic-basil-beets/

Ok. Can it be summer again? I usually just get shiitake mushrooms at the farmer's market as I haven't found great quality at my stores.

If you have bigger markets, you might be able to find good ones this time of the year if so you should make this, just don't tell me because I might get jealous.

Speaking of stuffed potatoes, these sausage stuffed sweet potatoes with arugula sauce really pack in the veggies in a family friendly form.

I am kinda a lazy gluten free cook, give me the easy way! One of my favorite ways to serve loose sandwich fillings is in baked potatoes. Hard to beat the ease! These sloppy joes have all the classic flavor, just in a stuffed potato form.
