George Takei has shown that you don't have to be a millennial to appreciate social media, in fact, just the opposite.

I use My Fitness Pal, but this sounds like it will be a real breakthrough in the health and fitness App area.  Also can't wait to see the "iWatch." Anyone have updates on that piece of hardware?

A wrap up of the video trends seen at last year’s CES, the consumer electronics tradeshow held annually in Las Vegas. We look at the movement toward 4K for consumers and wearable cameras. We also look at new camera sharing. We also checked out flying camera drones.

love the app Myfitnesspal for tracking my nutrition, exercise and weight.  Coupled with my Fitbit it's making me much more aware of how to maximize my exercise and food intake.

Devastated by the loss of Philip Seymour Hoffman.  A talented actor whose gift has left us too soon.  RIP.

+Jody Devere starting to think about my next car.  Could use your advice on what extras are must haves and what is only going to cause me problems.  I'm thinking of a Hybrid but find all the different models confusing to choose from...Ford vs Toyota vs Honda?  What I really wish I could afford is a Tessla

Has the increase in corporate advertising on websites and in browsers gotten to you too?

Introduction

I'm a seasoned Film and Television Producer, Post-production Director and Digital Content Manager with vast experience in delivering award-winning results, on time and within budget.

I understand the power of social media and have extended my professional expertise to web development, content management, blogs and other social media.

The Whole Story

I grew-up in the country spending my time in the woods.  Animals and wildlife became a passion and when I saw my first Jacque Cousteau film I knew what I wanted to be when I grew-up….the wife of his son, ha!  Oh how times have changed….BUT that passion for the environment never waivered and now I am a documentary filmmaker specializing in natural history, environmental and social justice films.

My wanderlust began early and as soon as I finished college, I spent four years traveling from the Middle East to Korea, Australia to Russia and just about every country in between.  I had adventures that I could not have dreamed of...climbing Himalayan mountains, harvesting opium with the hill tribes in the Golden Triangle, attending teachings of the Dali Lama in Bodhgaya, and volunteering with Mother Teresa’s Home for the Destitute and Dying.

Returning home after 4 years in Asia and the Middle East was difficult. I really had little “real job” experience to sell to an employer and was no longer “just out of school.”  Being a resourceful woman (something travel in Asia will teach you) I talked my way into a job at WNET-TV in New York City. Long story short, this led to work at other TV stations and eventually to a post-production facility called VideoWorks.  VideoWorks taught me about animation, digital effects, and storytelling with pictures.  It also gave me my first big gig working on wildlife films, a series called The Animal Express.

The Bronx Zoo offered a position as an in-house filmmaker. I worked for the Wildlife Conservation Society for 8 years, traveling the world and even working on a degree in environmental science.  Along the way I met amazing people who were out to experience life on their own terms and encouraged me to do the same.

I started Peal Productions LLC in 2001.  I now make my living as a documentary filmmaker who specializes in natural history, environmental and wildlife projects. I expanded my production company to include work in digital media, social media, and website design.  This combines my photography, graphic arts, and environmental science degrees in a creative, satisfying combination.

My production work brought me to the School Programs at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD where I work as their Digital Content Specialist, while continuing my free-lance work for Discovery and Animal Planet.

Specialties: documentary films that focus on social justice and natural history/environmental issues. I have a strong location/field production and post-production background and, I am an adept researcher and fact checker. I excel at project management and production coordination.
