Of all the great comments made in this hangout my very favorite is something +Rae Hoffman  said about hiring SEO firms.  Take a listen at the ONE HOUR 16 MINUTE mark, she is dead on :)

I have never heard of two of the tools listed here (Pixlr and Cute PDF) but tried both and liked!  CutePDF can be helpful if you're publishing ebooks/etc.  FYI.

For businesses with an established presence on FB, this might be a great new marketing opportunity if it goes public.

If you can tear yourself away from all the 'Google+ might die' posts out there, here's a podcast and article I think are very worth checking out.

First up is Aaron Wall of SEOBook fame giving an interview, the podcast is about an hour long so get a cup of coffee and get comfortable.

http://www.visiblehq.com/episode-13/

My second selection is a great historical look at Google and Larry Page in particular. Another long piece but worth the read if you're into knowing about the inner-workings of Google.

http://www.businessinsider.com/larry-page-the-untold-story-2014-4

And yes, I did pair these two pieces on purpose ;)-

Enjoy the weekend.

Makes sense since referrals are a big part of an Agent's business.  Article mentions some tools FB offers to real estate agents.

Here's a promotional marketing idea:

Earlier today when I was standing in the check-out line at Safeway I noticed this paper taped to the back of the register.  Get a flu shot from Safeway's pharmacy and they'll give you 10% off your next grocery bill.

What a TERRIFIC idea and way to turn a not-so-great situation into a positive for everyone involved.

Most of us are not in the business of dispensing flu shots but that doesn't mean you can't find a way to partner with someone who is or use the situation in a similar way.

Offer a discount on your next order or a coupon for future purchase if your clients/customers send you a receipt for a flu shot.   Make sure you do a press release to announce the promotion and a follow-up release with headcounts.  Always include the fact you're available for interviews (if you are).

I think this is a great, great promotion on Safeway's part.  :)

Introduction
I’m Debra Mastaler, President and owner of  Alliance-Link.  Thanks for checking out my Google Plus page.

Alliance-Link has been in business since 2001 and offers link building training to webmasters looking to build a brand and rank well through content, social networks and traditional media outreach.

Links are still a big part of the algorithmic equation search engines use to determine how a page ranks, my services focus on smart and creative ways to build links through creative and residual content.

I also maintain a small tool directory and a blog on Alliance-Link, as a link builder for hire and a webmaster with multiple properties,  I am constantly on the look-out for new and creative ways to promote my sites. When I find a helpful tool, tip or idea, I add it to the directory and/or share it on the blog.

Black Friday shopper gets amazing online deals
www.buyvia.com

Online shopping on Black Friday was almost too much fun for this shopper to handle!

I have had to visit their offices several times with the kids, always spend at least 40 minutes in a crowded, cramped and dark waiting room. The front desk staff is unfriendly and rude, they don't like being asked "how much longer". When you've been waiting 30 minutes past your scheduled appt time, I don't think asking is unreasonable. Receptionist treated me like a child, waved me off and told me to take a seat. Just rude. They changed their online portal and didn't tell anyone, I got a link to open my daughter's account two months after her last appt. Try to email through it, - you get no response. Dr. Day has little personality, she gets the job done but there isn't much interaction with her. She will answer your questions as they pertain to the complaint that brought you in but nothing else. When you're not feeling well, having a dour doctor doesn't help. In December 2014, I brought my daughter in when she had the flu, they assigned me to Dr. Carter. He breezed into the exam room after we had been waiting there for 20 minutes and never apologized for the delay. This on top of the 40 minutes we waited in the waiting room. He looked directly at my daughter the entire time, never acknowledged I was sitting next to her and sent her over for xrays since she had a bad cough. He talked pretty fast without asking us if we needed clarification or anything else. We then waited almost one hour for the xray to be read, went back to Dr. Carter who said there was something on the xray and we should "watch it". Never got a follow up call from him or the practice and it's been two months. Not sure how we are supposed to "watch it"? . I've never been to a medical practice that didn't follow up after a visit, especially when xrays are involved. No one from this practice called after our visit. We are actively looking to leave this practice and find another but it's tough, most practices are not taking new patients. I would not recommend this practice if you want to establish a long-term relationship with your family doctor.
