This is brilliant! I have an Anova circulator, a bunch of Costco vanilla beans-- and I know what I'm going to try!  Great video, too!

Plum Streusel Cake
Living on the Central Coast of California, I don't get to experience the four seasons like other states do. We don't get the spectacular kaleidoscope of fall leaves, and we certainly do need rain! I do know that fall is coming when the sun starts setting ea...

Cold-Oven Pound Cake
Hi! I'm back, and it's been a very long time since I've posted a recipe. Forgive me?  I've been busy baking and cooking, but mostly sharing pictures on Instagram or on my Facebook Fan Page. I'm blessed to live in a part of California where fresh strawbe...

Wow, Frieda!  I needed apple butter and resorted to buying some. Our apple trees are almost ready to pick fruit. I love that I can make, and can, my own. Plus, the non-stick insert has me really curious to research.  PS: How annoying it is when you get SPAM comments. Grrrr... I hope you delete them.  It happens to me, too!

Braised Brisket and Vegetables
I absolutely love my InstantPot , and I use mine several times a week. But,

there are lazy Sundays when I enjoy putting my Dutch Oven to work.  Braising meats, in liquid, low and slow for several hours tenderizes meat until it's so tender that you don't ...

The Prodigal Food Blogger -- How the food blog world has changed for me
For the last few weeks, I have struggled with logging on to my food blog and Facebook Page . I just couldn't find the right words, and I'd second-guess if I should even write a post that doesn't have a recipe and photo. This morning, I'm on week #2 of my a...

Mixed Berry Scones
So many of my fellow Americans love biscuits, but I much prefer what I perceive is a "cousin" to this Southern specialty.  I'm talking about scones.  I think I prefer scones because they are mildly sweet, and so versatile with all the ingredients that you c...
