I have always been passionate about public relations. Working on both the agency and client side for big brand companies allowed me to gain a detailed understanding of the power of PR, and what it can do for organizations and individuals. I moved to Ottawa from Toronto for a lifestyle change in early 2000 and haven’t looked back since.
Soon after my arrival in the National Capital Region, I served on the board of the Canadian Marketing Association as Vice-President and Director of Public Relations, responsible for creating awareness and generating publicity. I continued that momentum and started developing effective news stories for other organizations and individuals, building credibility, shaping perceptions and influencing opinions for clients, one storyline at a time.
To this day, several years later, my friends often ask me when I am moving back to Toronto and why I love Ottawa so much – and I simply responds by saying… “Because my drycleaner smiles and waves at me when I walk by”.
That’s my story. I’d love to hear yours.
