So after nearly a month with BSPWM I have become more comfortable with it.  Bar-Aint-Recursive was the most challenging and took a lot of screwing around to get it how I wanted it.  In the end I forked earspl1t's bar and modified the conky file quite extensively.  Also altered my ever lasting wallpaper to suit the terminal colours a bit more and I also went back to ZSH again .. it's just too good.  As for programs displayed above they include inxi, dfc, htop, screenfetch, ncmpcpp, mutt and weechat.

The above screenshot shows two seperate screenshots.  The top is the clean desktop, the bottom is a fake busy desktop.  If you want to scrounge around my configs you can visit github.com/z1lt0id.

PS.  Last week I also purchased a GTX 970, truly enjoying playing games on Linux with that card.

If you're a gamer +Aaron Monger it can get slightly annoying when games don't support the aspect ratio but other than that I love this monitor.  I've had it for over a year now :)

So I'm upgrading my video card tomorrow was originally going to buy a 970.  Then all of this controversy came out regarding memory allocation.  Is this card still worth the purchase as only play in 1080p or should I wait another six months for another card? Upgrading from a GTX 670 2GB card btw.

Great playing, but can tell you've been inspired by Virgil Donati a shit load. ;)

This is fantastic, I hear elements of Steven Wilson, Sigur Ros - to just name a few - Nick Cave comes to mind also.   The soundtrack ambience elements are absolutely fantastic and the chord changes and harmonies when singing "Raining Gold" are brilliant.  You've won a fan here.

In the dark recesses of my machine I have Windows 8.1 SSD that I use purely for gaming.  And recently got back into composing and installed Cubase 7.5 along with a whole bunch of Kontakt add-ons, synths, drums, etc.  Will purchase a new midi controller next week so I can compose properly.  In the meantime I'm getting accustomed to the plug-ins.  Here is an example after playing with it for a few hours.  Note - really need a midi controller to compose properly.
