I don't normally share YouTube videos, but this speech from Senator +Scott Ludlam is well worth watching and sharing as it brings to light issue such as the +Liberal Party of Australia directl contradiction to one of their own beliefs.

We Believe:
In the inalienable rights and freedoms of all peoples; and we work towards a lean government that minimises interference in our daily lives; and maximises individual and private sector initiative

_In those most basic freedoms of parliamentary democracy - the freedom of thought, worship, speech and association.
In a just and humane society in which the importance of the family and the role of law and justice is maintained_

So what did "we" learn? That this system of "privacy invasion" is created in order to hunt down "criminals" ie: corruption, organized crime... it is the business communities that are loudest in their objections to this... why? because it takes Money and Influence to organize and facilitate the "threats" to the economy and country. I've recently learned that large companies are in fact "Trolling" the web sites of "ordinary" peoples looking for reasons to HATE and Punish through organized anti-hiring/ sacking policies to further disenfranchise the "lesser" in our societies (starve them to death! bankrupt them etc) CEO's are working together on this, organized crime... In affect they rob the economy at large. If this kind of punitive action executed by companies is allowed to flourish here I am sure tax evasion is also a major problem... I feel it's probably true that small fry have little to worry about, they got nothing but at worst a "big mouth" however little to no follow up actions ever take place! (or it would be on the news!) So who's banging the drum the loudest probably do have something to hide. INDUSTRY including UNIONS behaving very badly toward little citizens with little opportunity to do anything but react if they find out "your a marked man" does not simply apply to general public by the Authorities for petty crimes. Businesses and their brand of "Marking people" for comments and perceived offences is a potential threat to all should "someone crack!" under the pressure of Business and Union "Bulling". I suppose I too would be worried if that were my circle of "friends" and my attitude toward people in general!

Since I haven't been sleeping properly since 2013, so I thought I'd take a look at a sleep monitoring solution by way of re-purposing my iphone 3gs, installing an app on it and checking the results to see if the data is useful to myself or my doctor in order to turn me back into a normal human being again.

The idea is sound. The reality is, it is unfortunately futile.

Why you say? most apps on the itunes store require iOS v7 or higher, but the iphone 3gs itself can only apparently run iOS 6.1.6

EDIT: Managed to answer my own question thanks to +James Devenish

I'm considering starting a somewhat simple +Arduino project.
I think that I know more of less what I need (although getting everything from the same place is looking to be the most annoying part since some places son't have stock etc.).

What I would like to know however, is who else in #perth  is familiar with the Arduino/embedded hacking and/or knows enough to want to lend a hand or can at least point me in the right direction to get advice and/or help?

A work colleague tags his daily reports random quotes. Today's is the following quote:

"Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

This is one of the things that keeps me working where I am...

In a follow-up to my previous PSA (https://plus.google.com/+DeanBergin/posts/RZzyJNwwK9n), I find out that before I drove past it this morning, while it was ablase, I saw what looked like the guy who stole the vehicle as he was walking away from the scene.

As much as I would like to see iiNet not get acquired by TPG, I think this is futile.
Blocking the sale of iiNet to TPG is important, because the telecommunications sector needs more competing voices and not less. In the world of data retention, internet filtering, copyright laws, and other key discussion points revolving the telecommunications industry, iiNet is providing a unique voice that will be drowned out by this sale.  What is 'right' for shareholders, isn't always what is right for an industry, for the consumers, or f...

This was the most disappointing part of my day. I'd rather not have to look for a new ISP.

I am going to be in the market for a new Android phone this year and I would like to kindly ask people in my Circles for some recommendations/advice on what to purchase based on my requirements as follows:

1) Storage. I demand big storage (64-128Gb internally) or at least the option to put my own microSD card in it.

2) Bloatware. I prefer stock or at least as close to stock as possible and prefer not to have to revert to third-party mods that may or may not be kept up-to-date (*cough* CyanogenMod *cough*).

3) Camera. Good high quality camera.

4) Ergonomic. I want a phone that has a curved back that fits well in the palm of ones hand (like my current SGS3).

I am not concerned about a removable battery or many other factors (size really doesn't matter *wink* *wink*), except what is listed above.

I am also not in a hurry and I am considering other brands since Samsung have been a bit of a pain with regards to Bloatware/Knox so any future releases of devices would also be welcomed, preferably those that will be released locally by the end of the year.
