My Collections

Now that Google+ Collections are a thing, I've decided that the best way to use them would be to route all of my posts into one of them.  This way, the experience all of my followers get from me can be customized by you, not so much me.  Yeah that's right: YOU decide what you want to see.  To aid you, here's what my current Collections look like.

Gamer's Corner: Any gaming news will be here: https://plus.google.com/collection/oaUNa

Film Radar: I love me some movies!  When I'm excited about one, any news for it will go here: https://plus.google.com/collection/8ANNa

The TV Watchlist: In my role at +Geeks of the Round I watch a LOT of TV, but there are also things I watch that we don't cover at GotR, and you'll find news about the shows I watch and/or am interested in here: https://plus.google.com/collection/Mh8sP

Dumbass File: If you've been following me for awhile, you already know what this one is about.  I love posting stories about unmitigated dumbassery, and you'll find those here: https://plus.google.com/collection/4LJPI

The Cosplay Collective: The name kinda says it all, but I'm fond of cosplayers who really put work into their creations.  I post those I really like here: https://plus.google.com/collection/skbtP

MMA Madness: I'm a huge fight fan, so when I get excited for an event or a fighter, you'll find lots and lots here: https://plus.google.com/collection/weUQI

The Geekery: General stuff that's cool if and only if you're a geek.  You know what's up: https://plus.google.com/collection/0AexZ

DeAno's World: This Collection is just me.  Things I'm doing, me hanging with my friends, pics of the family..this is me, personally: https://plus.google.com/collection/AXmUI

Cool, Funny, Interesting, and Weird: This is basically my catch-all.  If it doesn't fit elsewhere, this is where it goes.  Expect random.  Lots of random: https://plus.google.com/collection/wRKQI

Everything above this point is a part of the standard DeAno Jackson package.  You follow me, you're following these as well unless you opt out.  The next one, due to risque content, is totally opt-in.

Ginger Everyday!: Redheads are my kryptonite.  Here you'll see why.  Expect this to be NSFW: https://plus.google.com/collection/wJPNa

+Крыстафер Гомес Okay, you're taking this way too seriously. It was a prank. The intent was for them to not realize who she was.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we saw Wally West last night. #TheFlash
Geeks of the Round originally shared to TV News:

Season two of The Flash has a lot of potential.  Here +DeAno Jackson breaks down some Wild Speculations based on Barry's trip through the Speed Force. #TheFlash

Everyone seems to be upset about a certain Google Maps search term popping up with +The White House.  Why?  If someone was calling me Batman, I'm pretty sure I'd be okay with that.

[To replicate this, open Google Maps in a new tab, search for 'superman house' and after those results pop up do a second search for 'batman house.']

Thanks +Dru Morgan

That article made me laugh at all the politically correct tiptoeing. The best part was when instead of saying "cracker house", they said "Crack- house". At first I didn't get it; I thought they were searching for the local drug dealer's house (the crack house).

P.S. I'm so sorry to even have a thought that implies that there are racial slurs in this world, but it is impossible to have such a conversation without some rascalion pointing them out. So, my apologies to all who are offended, but my journalistic integrity shall be redeemed in the end.

Pretty fun Reddit thread that I think will be equally fun here.

As a grown-up, what can you not do that you think you should be able to do?

I'll kick it off: I have absolutely no idea how a car works or how to fix one if there's something wrong with it.  I mean, I know how to pump gas and I can change a tire if given enough time, but you pop the hood of the car and while I'm pretty sure I can point out the engine, I don't know what anything else is, how it functions, or even what the hell it is.  As far as I'm concerned, cars work because of sorcery.

How about you?

+Camille S-M I've never played Telltale games, only bought this because I like GoT, and if I'd known how long it would be, I'd have done the same. I am never going to remember all the little plot points/choices I've made to actually enjoy the game the way it's meant to be played.

Wow. The Flash had an great finale. Lots of questions answered, and a literal universe full of new questions. The picture isn't a spoiler - it's more of an easter egg and you'd have to be a fan of the comics to really get it, and I thought I'd point it out just in case you missed it.

Season two is going to be awesome. #TheFlash #Season1Finale

Many have asked me my thoughts on the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, specifically the ending. I didn't write this article, but it sums up my own thoughts fairly well.
Sansa Stark's rape in "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" has inspired passionate reactions. We unpack those reactions and look at what they mean for the show.

A Real O.G. (Original Geeksta)
Introduction
I'm a gamer, a freelance writer, newshound, real estate investor, and an all-around geek, also known to gamers and around the Net as EvoAnubis.  I like to read, game, watch movies/TV shows, eat sushi, and watch MMA.  I'm the Executive Producer of Geeks of the Round, which is a show in which we do a roundtable discussion on various TV shows and movies, and I'm also a contributor to several news stations including KRNV News 4 and KRXI Fox here in Reno, Fox 11 in L.A., Fox 40 in Sacramento, and WSFX Fox in Wilmington.

Additionally, I'm a Google+ T.C. Alumni member.

If you choose to follow me, you'll be subject to whatever is going through my head at the time.  Mostly that tends to be games I'm excited for, TV shows/movies I'm into, MMA fights, and other stuff which will probably be random.  It's The World According to DeAno; deal with it or don't. ;-)

If you circled me in hopes that I'll circle you back, prepare for disappointment.  I don't do that.  I circle people for one of two reasons:

~I know you and like you.
~You post content that interests me.

I also nearly never check profiles of people that circle me.  Sorry; only so many hours in a day.  What that means is that the only way I have to know you and have any motivation whatsoever to check your profile is for you to comment on my posts.

However, I do a LOT of Hangouts.  If you ever catch me in one or see a "Join Hangout" button on my page, by all means feel free to drop in and say hi!

I enjoy debate and encourage conversations and discussion, but there are rules.  No insults, no name-calling.  This isn't some random internet forum where that is acceptable.  Everyone respects one another and everything's fine.  Cross that line and I start deleting comments and blocking people if it continues.

Don't really know what else to say.  I'm DeAno; that should be descriptive enough, given I'm the only one.

Well, what can be said? If you're in Reno and want to go roller skating, your options are a bit limited. This place is...serviceable. Wouldn't suggest eating anything there, though.

Great ambiance, wonderful (but not cheap) food, great drinks, and delicious cheesecake with plenty of variety. This place is a solid win.

After seeing this restaurant on the KRNV Webcast, we just had to check it out. Owner/Chef Sakul remembered us from our G+ introduction and even made us a spring roll platter, no charge! The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The ambiance is amazing; having the option to sit on the shaded patio was nice. I'll sum up this review by saying that we just found our new favorite spot. Can't wait to go back! Edit: Not sure where this thing is getting 'dislikes' from - the value was great, the place was spotless, and I couldn't care less about sides.

This place is horrid, particularly in comparison to the original Sushi Pier. Service makes everything, and the service here would actually be BETTER if they used trained seagulls instead of people as servers. Avoid at all costs.

I've heard about Five Guys for years, but I've never had to chance to try it out for myself until today. I am really glad I did! They have plenty of toppings to choose from, the burgers are juicy and flavorful, the prices are fair...did I mention that the burgers are delicious? The only nitpicky bad thing about this place is the location; it can be a pain in the ass to drive to if you're coming at it from the wrong way (if you're a local you know exactly what I mean), but again that's just a nitpick. Bottom line is that Five Guys just became my new favorite burger place in the city; can't wait to go back again!

I came across this place totally on accident, but I will absolutely return! The food was fantastic; I took my waiter's suggestion and ordered an alfredo pasta dish with saffron and scallops, and it instantly became my favorite thing on the menu. The waiter was attentive and answered all of my questions no matter how stupid, and I loved the fire-warmed tortillas they served as we waited for our meals. You won't regret giving this place a shot.

The Fireside Lounge here is my favorite spot in the entire city. Great drinks at fairly good prices, and if you're hungry the Coffee Shop is right outside the Lounge and is open 24 hours a day. When I'm trying to impress someone visiting from out of town, this is where I'll take them.
