Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini - Happy Friday folks! What better way to kick off a long weekend than with a grown up sweet treat right? Well, that is unless you prefer these types of treats instead (which is totally cool). Personally I m all over the chocolate covered maraschino cherry marshmallow (recipe to follow sometime before Tuesday). Sure this sounds more like a Valentine s Day cocktail than it does a Labor day cocktail. But, hey when inspiration hits you just gotta go with the flow. So I hope you enjoy this Friday s cocktail, and hope that it mellows you out for what s to come with the next school year. CHEERS! Chocolate Covered Cherry Martini

Peanut Butter Cookie Brittle - Cookie brittle has been on my mind for some time now. I have to say the thought of whipping up some sort of cookie brittle began the day I came across Sheila G s Brownie Brittle during a routine trip to Costco. Since that very day, the idea has lingered on and off. I ve gone back and forth trying to decide just exactly what type of cookie brittle I wanted to make. Well, this weekend I was finally enlighten and, it was totally meant to be, because it all came together perfectly. And because of this enlightenment today I am able to share this not overly sweet peanut butter cookie brittle with you! Go ahead, get your ice cold glass of milk ready and bake some! Ginger Whiskey Sour - In honor of Whiskey Sour Day which will take place on Monday. Yes I admit, I m one of those who keeps an eye on these things. In my defense though, if I may Let it be known that I selectively choose which food holidays I like to partake in. It just so happens that this one fit the bill perfectly, and hopefully it s no surprise that I m presenting you with a totally non-purist version of it. So CHEERS!! Ginger Whiskey Sour

Hawt Chocolate Custard - Although I ve heard of Cinepolis in passing here and there for some time now. It really hadn t caught my eye until just recently when one of my co-workers posted an Instagram pic of an Iced Mexican Mocha which him and his wife procured during their last visit to said establishment while going to watch The Expendables 3. Not only did he rave about the Ice Mexican Mocha, he also mentioned the fact that he and his wife never go without ordering some of their gourmet popcorn. Only in the following manner of course; half caramel on the bottom and chili on top; mix it up and apparently, it is the best popcorn combo EVER!. Upon further investigation of their menu, I discovered they also happen to serve Moscow Mules and truffle fries with spicy siracha aioli. Really ? Um, guess who s done sneaking in an americanos into movie theaters. And of course, as usual I digress basically, what I was trying to convey is that this Hawt chocolate Custard was inspired by the flavors of the Cinepolis Mexica

Cherry Hazelnut Tart - So perhaps cherry season is pretty much over according to the almanac I seriously have my doubts though, since grocery stores here in Southern California keep taunting me with 2 lb. bags of reasonably priced gorgeous looking cherries. Being a sucker for a good deal this weekend I couldn t resist so I caved in and picked up one of these said two pound bags of cherries and proceeded to whip up this tart to share with you. Trust me, it s so a slam dunk! Not only are you able to whip up two tart shells with this hazelnut crust, the combination of hazelnuts and cherries is pretty amazing if I do say so myself. So you ll definitely want to use up all those cherries and make two! Cherry Hazelnut Tart

Easy Father’s Day Ice Cream Cake For all of us moms who have super tight schedules and are swamped with work, I came up with the perfect dessert to serve the amazing father s of our children. Since I haven t met a soul yet who didn t have an appreciation for a little Ben & Jerry s, I figured I could totally get away with this. We are talking a layer of Chubby Hubby and a layer of Peanut Butter Cup snuggled between two layers of vanilla bean cake frosted with a little talenti Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream which is then topped with an entire bottle of chocolate fudge magic shell. What s not to love I so got this! Easy Father's Day Ice Cream Cake

Lost In Translation Cocktail I know the movie Lost in Translation was released way back in 2003. But, it was just last week that I actually got to watch it for the very first time. I ve been meaning to watch it since my trip to Japan but just hadn t had a chance to. OMG I totally got it! Needless to say this cocktail was totally inspired by it. So enjoy!
