It doesn't happen often that I come across a yoga book for children that is more than just a step-by-step guide to poses named after animals, which is why I'm so happy to have found "Emily and the Mighty Om". This beautifully illustrated (by Sleepless Kao), enchanting book is written by Montrealer Sarah Lolley and makes yoga a key part of the story, yet other important themes are also weaved in. Read the rest of my thoughts on this gem here:

Do you plan on visiting the fair city of #Montreal? Check out +Lolë's must-visit yoga guide to what we have to offer!
Your Montreal Guide: Studio to Street in One Day
Montreal is known to be the perfect city for foodies, musicians, artists, sommeliers, literati… and now also officially yogi’s paradise!

Say you had one day in our home town to discover the city and catch as many yoga classes as possible… what would you do? Any zen guru would tell you to S.T.O.P: Stop, Take a breath, Observe and Proceed... with this itinerary:

Rise with the sun and a 7AM Moksha class at their NDG location. Both Moksha Yoga hot yoga studio locations in Montreal offer classes for all levels, pretty much anytime! Literally, on any given day you can choose from up to 19 classes, including power flows, Ashtanga, Yin, and community courses where you pay what you can.

As you walk out of the chic neighbourhood of Monkland towards your next destination, you will walk by Studio Vie, Montreal’s yoga home for Moms and Moms-to-be. If you are expecting, this a great alternative to the more demanding hot studio practices.

Take a walk long Sherbrooke Street, stopping for breakfast at Centrale, right next to the Lolë Atelier Westmount. About 2km further down the same historic avenue you will come to the corner of Atwater. Head south (right) to St. Catherine for a mid-afternoon class at the intimate and wonderful Happy Tree Yoga studio. Wrap up the morning at the Atwater market, where you can hop on a Bixi and spin along the Canal Lachine to +Luna Yoga, an enchanting asana, meditation and vinyasa studio in Old Montreal.

Grab a tea on the go from Olive & Gourmand and begin your trek up the famous Saint Laurent Street. You will cross Chinatown, continue up through the Quartier des spectacles, and up to the Plateau Mont-Royal, where you will be face with the difficult decision or where to shop and where to eat next (too many great options!). We recommend a detour down the cobble-stoned Duluth Street to Saint Denis, where you can stop for a chit-chat with us at the Lolë Atelier St-Denis. Then, window-shop all along this street to Laurier, where you can take a left until you find yourself back on Saint Laurent, just in time for an afternoon practice atWanderlust. This studio is smack in the heart of the trendy Mile-End neighbourhood and not too far from Montreal's unmissable St-Viateur and Fairmount Bagels.

Still can’t get enough yoga? No stress. You will be a short walk from +Naada Yoga, where you can close the day defying gravity in a Yoga Wall class.
