I like this little parable.  A good one to remember when I get frustrated looking for a solution to a problem.
If you intend to come up with the right idea or find the right solution to a creative problem, you’re unlikely to do so. The reason is simple: thinking there is a right or perfect idea in the first...

What is music to some ears, may be less musical to others.
For some it is the sound of joy.  For some it is cacophonous.  According to dictionary.com, Cacophonus is an adjective describing having a harsh or discordant sound.

for some, walking on hot coals is like a stroll in the park.
Dictionary.com  defines Sang-froid as coolness of mind; calmness; composure.  This can be admirable in a moral person.  But consider it in a Lawful/Evil person (D&D reference).  That can be terrifying as they are quite certai...

Hungry yet?
One of the "holy trinities" of cooking are carrots, celery and onions.  Often it is made into a mirepoix.  dictionary.com defines a mirepoix as a noun that means a flavor made from diced vegetables, seasonings, herbs and some...

With all the seriousness, there needs to be a time to be stern and still a time to play and be silly.
Much of what we say can probably fit into this category.  We speak just to fill awkward space or just to hear ourselves speak. There are always times to be serious and exacting in what we say.  But there are times we just nee...

We dropped in the the store and asked about an estimate for fencing around our yard. George was able to fit us in between appointments, He measured the property and gave us an estimate for our original idea. It was much more expensive than we had anticipated. He then took the time to work with us to come up with a plan that would look good and work well and be closer to our budget. The project, which was large, did take longer than planned. Weather did not help and sometimes they had staffing issues. But in the end we got a good looking fence, well installed. The workmen were pleasant to work with and cleaned up at the end. Very little was left behind.

having read a few other reviews about poor service and food, I have to say our experience is the opposite. Food has always been tasty and generous and exactly as ordered. Our servers have always been pleasant. We don't mind a bit of a wait for our food since we typically go in nice weather and bring our dog. They have a nice dog friendly patio both in front and in back of the restaurant. We usually don't order the cocktails. My mom occasionally orders wine, we usually have coffee. They keep our cups hot and full.

This is a nice little two woman shop. They are both very skilled cutting hair for women, children and men. It is best to call and make an appointment but they will accept walk-ins if they have time.

This is one of my favorite places to go for a walk any time of the year. The annual festival is jam packed with great vendors and activities. This is a great place to go for a photo walk, although folks wanting to use the grounds for a professional photoshoot need to apply for a pass. I have not tried the snack bar but I have been told that the food is good.

This is a large clean and bright kennel. My husband and I came to visit on the spur of the moment and everything looked just as we would expect a well run kennel to be. It was a nice day and we had the pleasure of lingering to chat with Joyce, the owner. We also watched some schutzhund training. The dogs were happy and excited to be out and working. There was a litter of GSD puppies available and we ended up bringing one of the boys home once the pups were 8 weeks old. He is an energetic, inquisitive and brave little fellow...well, he won't be little long. He is growing into a very handsome dog.

The commercials say "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man/ or woman" and for Sneade's this has always been my experience. During my last purchase I was just exploring options. I have difficulty reading the boxes and when I saw that was I was considering was on sale, one of the gals took the time to help me read a number of boxes so I could know all my options. She then helped me find the bits and pieces that would go with my purchase, and gave me the isles I needed for a few more yard goods. And then I needed a new loyalty card since I had moved and this was a new Ace for me. They got me quickly and easily squared away and the items I bought work great!
