Version 10.5.1 has just been released.

It adds a user setting to enable a 'hack' that may - or may not - help with Huawei's Oreo EMUI devices not updating the calendar properly. Ultimately the problem is a Huawei bug that only they can fix.

Version 10.5 has been released. It contains an important bug fix for widget updating issues.

New:
- Completely revamped widget updating
- Allow users to disable App Alerts

Fixes:
- Several bug fixes and performance improvements

I think I found a proper fix for the widget updating stopping - I switched the UI updates from a JobIntentService to a BroadcastReceiver. This may also allow DashClock extensions to continue to work on Oreo ... lets see...

Please try with this version and let me know how it works - should be really fast in updating.

Time for the community to help us make a decision.

DashClock has not been updated in 2+ years and does not work properly on Devices running / Apps targeting Oreo (API27) and later.

The current solution is to keep Chronus targeting Nougat (API25) but, come November 1st, Google will prevent play store updates for apps that does not target at least API27 - we will then be forced to either update or stop development of Chronus.

Version 10.2 BETA1 is available via the Play store. It is an attempt to get to the bottom of the updating issue on Huawei devices. (This may however turn out to be a Huawei bug)

It contains:
- Allow users to turn off App Alerts
- Disables DashClock extensions support for Oreo devices

Fixes:
- Several bug fixes and performance improvements

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT:

1) DashClock has not been updated in over 2 years and unfortunately it's extensions will no longer work properly on devices running Android 8 (Oreo) and later. We are looking into alternatives.

2) The Gmail Extension is broken. A recent update to the Gmail app seems to have broken the API specified here: https://developers.google.com/gmail/android/
At the moment, listeners following the API mentioned above do not receive updates whenever there are mail changes. This seems to have broken between march 13 - march 22 2018 and hasn't been resolved yet in recent app updates. See https://goo.gl/smtpd8 for details

Version 10.1 BETA4 has been released.

This version reverts Chronus back to API25 (Nougat) to bypass Oreo's background updating restrictions. Things may very well be broken so please provide feedback on this release!

Hmm, looks like DashClock extensions will no longer work on Oreo devices.

I'm still investigating but since DashClock itself is abandonware (not updated in 2+ years) it was just a matter of time until it would break on newer Android APIs - specifically, the limits google now places on services running in the background.

Version 10.1 BETA2 is now available. It is a bug fix only release focusing on attempts to find workarounds for Oreo updating issues and general bug fixes based on Play Store crash reports.

TESTERS, please report your experience with this version!
