More airlines are going to a-la-carte pricing, but Spirit still raises eyebrows ($10 to print a boarding pass at the airport!) There's a big difference between fees you understand and fees that feel like "gotchas". I'm not sure Spirit will ever bridge that gap.

If you want the best price just ask for suggested retail sales value, and sell your own trade in.
